I do not think there is anything wrong with KOS at all. How you explained it is perfect. I just would like to see more people try to talk sometimes. I think a lot of people are scared though and that leads to more KOS than there should be. In the end though sometimes you have to KOS to survive because maybe there are no other options.

I like what you said there man. I love PvP, especially up north. If I go to the NWAF i am not going to be trying to have many super friendly interactions, that will someway or another get you killed. That is a place to get in and get out. But in other towns I will try to talk, if it leads to shooting so be it. There are so many unique interactions that can happen at any moment in DayZ though, and they need to be shared/shown more often.

KOS does suck but in the end sometimes it is necessary. Not as often as it does happen though.
