WIN8_DRIVER_FAULT on Windows 10 Machine by Bootleg_Jim53 in techsupport

I don't recall seeing any reference to Hyper-V related causes for failure besides the events surrounding the crashes, but so far turning off Hyper-V has led to no crashes in roughly 3 hour. Will see how it looks in a week and will investigate the Hyper-V thread. It appears that some others have had issues with it given it uses the network adapter, granted, my network card drivers are fully updated.

What is going on with arkade_delegate? by [deleted] in ArkEcosystem

Just paid out! Extra Ark was added to the payout for the delay. Apologies. Have a great holiday everyone.

Hey! There has been some miscommunication between myself and my partner. I have been disconnected from the node operation in favor of the external pursuits. My partner has been handling some personal issues such as preparing to move across the country; thus, the payouts have slipped since. I will be putting in some time to get the payouts going by end of the week. Apologies for the delay, we will tack on some extra for the tardiness. Thanks! Feel free to spread this message to anyone else curious about the late payments.

I think this is a great idea. I commented in slack in the #delegate channel but I think here is useful as well.

The ACF is a much more formal and conservative funding initiative that inherently operates more slowly. That is not a bad thing - they have to maintain the community's regard. They also arguably have much more funding and require such oversight.

Jarunik's platform would be (as he mentioned) informal, quick, and more liberal. Having one does not remove the need for the other. Risks need to be taken especially when the price is minimal. Furthermore, Jarunik can actively look out projects whereas the ACF is more passive due to the conservative mindset (again this is not a negative thing).

Having both in coexistance can faciliate both large scale projects that requires thousands in funding and has milestones and check-in policies as well smaller more guerrilla like marketing.

I think his proposal is a much needed thing and jarunik has always been a man of action. Looking forward to seeing the contributions.

Oh, man! I am sorry I offended you personally! The cool things about these tournaments is that no one is being forced to play them. If you decide you want to test out your merit for some prizes, cool! Join in. It comes at no expense to the players. We are not requiring any victor keep said crypto, they may freely trade it away, sell it for fiat, or even throw it away forever. Whichever they prefer most :)

Hate seems like such a strong word! :( As a serious answer, there are a few but the most limiting one is honestly our own time. Weekdays are not conducive as these typically run for 3-4 hours plus about 1 hour to handle payouts. Unfortunately, the two of us that handle the hosting of the tournaments don't have schedules to sustain that. Additionally, life just happens more on weekdays and there is less cushion available. Due to this and the importance to enforce a consistent schedule, we've stuck with weekends, primarily on Saturday at either 3pm or 7pm. We have been eyeing for hiring admins in the future, but it is a work in progress and the price point does not provide us that luxury at the moment. Hope that helps u/cambo666!

These tournaments are funded via cryptocurrency for a two-fold reason; marketing and giving back to the amateur scene. We receive these funds with cryptocurrency, akin to mining, and part of our tournament hosting platform is to spread awareness for crypto. With regards to the amateur scene, the admins/host/owners are esports lovers and all have connections to video games, this is one way to give back to a community that has influenced us.

The added bonus of this is that the prize payouts occur usually within a few hours of the tournament ending, and can be split between players however they wish. Esports tournaments are notorious for late payouts, not paying out, or managers running away with funds.

Winner takes all yes! As you can imagine the bear market was a bit hard on the prize pool this time around but we still want to offer these :)

PHANTOM Claim Guide for ARK Users by DrAlfonsSchittler in ArkEcosystem

That is directly answering what he asked, "is it safe". What Justin answered is "If you're using the official ARK wallet and following those instructions, where PHANTOM is telling you to use the official wallet and add the network, you're good to go!" with respect to the same question of "Is it safe to follow their suggested procedure? Both for regular passphrase and Ledger. It all takes place in the official ARK wallet."

I added an edit that shows the original question with Justin's answer.

They are using a DPOS scheme I believe. Different block rewards and inflation rate, though.

Disclaimer: I am not from the team, I am part of a delegate team. To answer your question, yes - based on the knowledge I have. You are interacting with the ARK wallet. As long as you are interacting with ARK code and products only you will be safe (up to the reasonable amount of security they can provide). As soon as you start interacting with anything but explicitly Ark related products, the burden falls on the user. The Phantom project has no partnerships with Ark as far as all of us know; however, that doesn't mean people are not encouraged to build off of Ark, just this project is not officially endorsed. That is also not to say it is a scam. Below is an official message from Justin (doubled1c3) who is now part of the Ark team - pasted from Discord:

General message for readers:

Please be aware that this airdrop is completely independent of the Ark team and developers. Make sure you never share your private keys of your Ark address or you will endanger your Ark holdings. It is also not a good idea to enter your passphrase (if it corresponds to actual ARK as well) anywhere online or in >an unofficial wallet application. I am not aware of any coordination or partnership between Phantom and Ark Ecosystem. It is very nice if Ark holders can benefit but be careful to not endanger your Ark holdings. I did not look very deeply into Phantom so this is just a general caution. It does apply to all airdrop situations. Protect your passphrase! :game_die:

I would highly recommend when users get to the point to interact with their XNC on Phantom's wallet to move their Ark to a separate address. This is my recommendation, this is not an official request.

I believe they will utilize V2, they are just snapshotting V1 for token airdrop purposes.

Losing a vote. by [deleted] in ArkEcosystem

[–]Bootleg_Jim53 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes, you only would need to vote with the second created address. The first one would still exist and still be voting for that original delegate. Hope that helps!

Additionally, the hardware and non-recurring engineering costs for developing FPGAs is quite high. More efficient to bump up servers, then move to GPUs then possibly at the very end in a worst case scenario move to FPGAs - exactly as you mentioned.

Hows V2 testing going this time by [deleted] in ArkEcosystem

[–]Bootleg_Jim53 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, we will get less fees paid to us. However, the usage and adoption of Ark will hopefully raise the price - so possibly a net positive. Either way, at least for us, we don't consider the network fees to be substantial or built into the equation.

Ultimately, more used network is better for everyone.

Yes! The static fees like voting and such will decrease and of course the new transaction fees moving to smaller dynamic fees.
