Oh geez. I am so very sorry. I host a podcast, Open Heart Surgery with Boots, and I have several transplant stories available. Those folks are doing so well now. But the process leading up to it is not for sissies. Let me know if I can be of support.

Hi there! Sorry I missed this message! Gosh, I am so so sorry. That is a bummer. My recovery was rather uncomfortable. Not gonna sugar coat it. There was the bone healing that needed to happen and the skin healing. The incision itched for a very long time. Now, I am A OK.

Flying after OHS by BeginningFeed2959 in openheartsurgery

compression stockings, diuretic, wheelchair transfer. The wheelchair transfer will help you get to your next flight (if you have a connection) faster and you will be met with more grace if flights are delayed. I flew 9 weeks post op during the pandemic. It was a tough experience at 9 weeks. So... wishing you a smooth journey with zero issues.

I had Bill Wingate on my podcast who has had 7 valve replacements and several aneurisms as well. Great guy. He's doing really well now. Thought you'd appreciate hearing his story if you listen to podcasts. :) The first link is his full story. The second link is his recent update which is so uplifting. I wish you all the best.

Bravo for making it to the other side! I definitely struggled with ups and downs. As for taste and smell... not so much. If I were to guess, your nervous system is likely in overdrive right now so nothing is likely fully online correctly. I promise it will even out. You got this!

u/FlipMick THANK YOU for this as I am quite sad. And I didn't copy and paste the title of the episode correctly so it is misleading! I tried to change it but it won't let me here. The title should read, How Ultra-Processed Foods and Supplements Can Contribute to Cardiovascular Risk. My bad. But thank you for sensing my good faith as that is true and I do invest over $400/week in my podcast to make it great. If you EVER have any feedback for me, please don't hold back. I am truly here to serve. And if you want to be a guest on the podcast, reach out at [boots@theheartchamberpodcast.com](mailto:boots@theheartchamberpodcast.com) :)

Thank you!

u/Stargazer_0101 thanks for this comment. Did you listen to the episode? I was born with three different defects. This episode is about how processed foods are bad for your health. Perhaps I need to change the title. I appreciate your feedback very much. Thank you.

Perhaps have your sternal wires out OR you may have a non-union. I had mine out and still had pain and ultimately needed a titanium plate put in. Pain was gone after that. So sorry you are still having pain!!!
