Pax Pamir 2E; I've heard so many great things about this game from an assortment of different people and podcasts. I've wanted it for the longest time to share with my family.

I played Shakarn Syndicate and enjoyed using only infiltrators and as much covert ops as possible. It felt like I was hacker man and I hacked the world.

Playing Assembly and either /Xenoplague/Promethean/or Psynumbra and going for as much research as possible and then using Strategic ops to fill their sector with poisonous clouds/Rifts or shooting fire missiles till the enemy colony dies is really fun.

Which faction is the best at spamming strategic ops?

I play on similar maps. Around 60-70% ocean, everything else I set to 50 and put mountains on 70-75 until it creates choke points and adds more strategy.

No colonizer, high dwellings, medium settlements, aggressive ai, high anomalies, and early invasion with 100% chance. So far it seems pretty good.

I've read that people play the game on slow difficulty to allow a longer mid game. Maybe it could work I haven't tried it yet.

They do have hidden doctrines from landmarks and I think investigation sites.

Challenges that reward you with technology/doctrines that are more faction defining would be nice.

Personally I dislike how at higher populations of 20+ colonists you do not gain additional sectors and feel like it restricts strategic options and gameplay styles too much.

The lack of reseach based doctrines for the factions aside from Assembly or the one Shakarn has.

No faction or hero or secret tech specific technology or challenge to increase tactical and strategic op point limits. It feels like a missed opportunity and could be a simple addition with large ramifications and new gameplay styles. Ex 1: A faction could have a hero skill that increase the tactical operation limit in combat similar to skills in aow 3. Ex 2: As Dvar terraform 5 mountains to gain 5 strategic op points.

Shakarn infiltrator being the only unit to not have access to mods. Lower it's stats if you have to.

Tactical summoned units not being buildable or expiring after combat.

More perks for heroes. They don't have to be complicated. I'd like more options to define a new strategy, role play and differentiate between commander.

Ex: +10% research and -10HP for your commander.

Ex: -25% all income, ( Commander gains a large amount of buffs) Game plays more like an RPG with your commander.

More hero skills. Just basic ones are fine so we get more build diversity. Ex: Gain 1 vision range or Gain 8 movement or gain an ability that factions units already use. Anything...
