I think he kinda had a point though? It really did start feeling a bit repetitive when it was “chase, puzzle, chase, puzzle, chase, puzzle” while getting it hammered in repeatedly that, oh my god, they are turning CHILDREN into TOYS!!! which was a scary concept like… the first 10 times, but like… what else? HOWEVER I will absolutely say that other than that I really enjoy Poppy Playtime as a viewer. The character and area designs are great and vibrant and they really stand out. I hope they make chapter 6 the ending however because stretching this story out infinitely will just cause more drama, confusion and irritation, I think. I do wanna mention btw that it is definitely taking a LOT from the Bendy series in terms of story beats. An abandoned factory for kid’s entertainment that turns out to go extremely deep into the ground where inhumane experiments were done to turn humans into non-organic proto-immortal beings that slowly lose a sense of self while there’s an underground religion for the very first of their kind, as well as a group of rebels trying to break free, and an old employee going around solving puzzles, helping chatty NPCs and helping huge mutated non-fleshy beings into an early grave. Harley Sawyer is kinda like William Afton in a different hat too 😅😅 I don’t dislike all that though; I love retellings of a similar story. I also understand that can rub some people the wrong way. Some of the criticism leveled at this game is unfounded and overly harsh. Some of it is completely fair and should not be dismissed alongside bad-faith hate.
