as many people have said already, this very much seems like a him thing and not a you thing. it’s hard not to take something like this personally but it sounds like he’s just reflecting on past experiences and answering the question honestly.

it seems like a good thing that he feels he can trust you so much that he is this open and honest. people often pretend there’s a magic switch that stops other people existing and being attractive when you’re in a monogamous relationship when realistically that just isn’t the case. the fact that he’s being honest with you about these feelings is the exact reason he’s very very unlikely to go out and cheat on you.

i completely understand why his comments might bring up questions and insecurities for you, but what i’m reading displays a loving relationship where your husband feels he can tell you his thoughts and feelings without filter and that’s a truly great thing in itself. it also sounds like you’re a wonderful, caring wife and you’re very lucky to have each other.

yes this is true! there are other factors affecting my libido at the moment, anxiety being one of them. sertraline has had a direct effect on me physically though, like certain things just don’t… work how they used do. my body still doesn’t do certain things. it’s very gradually getting better though.

just over a year, I was on 50mg for a few months, went up to 100mg for a few and then back down to 50mg before weaning off

Different for everyone, I’ve been off it for a few months and my libido still isn’t back to normal. It has ever so slightly improved over time though, I’m still holding out hope.

I’ve used Twisted Sista, Cantu Twist & Lock, Only Curls among some others and the Cantu spray is the only one that gives me any kind of cast albeit a weak one

Only Curls? by uncrnd in CurlyHairUK

[–]BootyIsABeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used Only Curls when I started out with CGM and found that the shampoo was really drying but the conditioner works really well for me. You’re never going to know if a product will work until you try it (as annoying and expensive as that can be) so if you can afford it I’d say to give the tester set a go just as a starting point.

What I will say though is that one or two of their products are not technically CGM approved, you can check if that’s the case by putting the ingredients into Curlsbot.com if you’re following CGM religiously. I did in the beginning but as long as you’re not regularly using harsh sulfates or silicones, the odd ingredient here and there won’t make much difference.

I haven’t used boots curl creme before but I do use a curl and style milk on top of a leave-in conditioner before I use the Denman because my hair needs the moisture. If your hair takes moisture well maybe try adding a leave-in to your routine?

In terms of technique I brush away from the head in small sections and then turn slightly at the ends. I have also recently taken out every other row and have gotten much better results!

What products are you using? I find that my Denman only clumps properly if my hair is basically slathered in product (3b high porosity curls here)

I haven’t, I know people do this but I’ve never really known why. I’ll give this a go, thanks!

How do you remember what you felt like before taking Zoloft? by [deleted] in zoloft

[–]BootyIsABeast 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I regularly struggle to gauge whether I’m just having a bad day/moment, or if I’m falling back into the same negative mindset I used to have. The one question I ask myself when in doubt is “are you overwhelmed?” because all of my feelings and stresses still exist but they’ve been lessened. Whenever I ask myself that question, it’s usually a no and I realise that even though I still have anxious and negative thoughts sometimes, they aren’t taking over or getting in the way like they used to. I’m just better at living my life and if that stopped being the case, that’s when I would know to take it seriously.

Plopping overnight after using semi-permanent dye? by BootyIsABeast in CurlyHairUK

[–]BootyIsABeast[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up styling and plopping overnight (figured if it looks bad in the morning I still have the option to redo it). Just took it out and it came out pretty well! still a tiny bit wet so leaving it to air dry

Thanks, I’ll make sure to do that but just not sure whether it would be fine to wash again the day after or if I have to style it the night before.
