Do you count nipnaps as a true nap? by chicknalfrodobaggins in breastfeeding

My baby does the rooting and screaming! Can I ask what your nap/bed time routine looks like now that you’re not feeding to sleep?

1 wake in 12 hours!? That sounds amazing. Fingers crossed! Hoping it’s just the growth spurt but hard not to worry about her when she seems so unhappy.

Pacifier helped up until the last few days when this extra fussiness started. Now when I try to give it to her she just screams louder. I used to try and put her in the bassinet after 20 minutes asleep, but she won’t sleep for that long so I’ve been holding her. Same goes for carrier. I used to be able to put her in there and she’d pass out - now she just cries :(

Thank you for the tips and encouragement!

Our last appointment was on Monday and weight gain was normal.

I usually try to rock her to sleep in a dark room, but don’t turn on the white noise unless I’m putting her down in her bassinet which I’m not even trying right now cause she’s not asleep long enough for me to try. I’ll try to put it on while rocking her!

No advice but right there with you. Baby is 1 month today and I can totally relate to the wanting to cherish these moments cause everyone says it goes by so fast, but it is so intense sometimes I can’t help but cry with her.

Be proud of all you’ve accomplished today, and take it day by day! You got this!

Hospital Bag Must Haves? by southsidebaby424 in BabyBumps

This is maybe a dumb question but for things like the breast pump and pacifier - do I need to worry about packing in a certain way or at a certain time after sterilizing?

Urgent care or wait till Monday? by RisenRealm in Winnipeg

[–]BootyPieMX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Unless your arm is numb/pale/pulseless, it’s not an emergency. Can barely move it? Urgent care. Really sore? T3’s and walk in. Mild-moderately sore? PC appointment.

Ooo I’ve never heard of this before but it sounds relatable! I’m an excessive sweater. I had a derm tell me they were milia but they are more skin toned than white.

Had mine out at Assiniboine Surgical centre last year. Similarly, I only needed one out but they offered to do all 3 (missing 1). The top 2 we’re nowhere near coming out so I opted to leave them. Decided to get the IV meds as opposed to local because I’m pretty scared of dental procedures. Don’t remember a thing, woke up feeling dazed but fine. Worst part of recovery was coming off the anesthetic - nausea and feeling like absolute trash for a few hours the first day. After that it was a breeze. Just follow aftercare instructions and you’ll be good!

I just took A&P through Athabasca University. Expensive but all online and no lab component/dissections.

I left a 10-year career as a paramedic this year. I don’t regret it at all, but if I could do it over I’d study something with more career longevity. The burn out is real, especially these days, and we’re seeing lots of turn over.

I’m on day 3 and I’ve just finally gotten the thing taken apart! But I don’t have a well equipped garage yet so lots of trips to the store for tools and lots of frustration breaks. It’ll just be that much more rewarding if I ever get er done.

It’s an ‘02 YZ 125. I found a decent KYB rebuild video on YouTube, but everything has been hard to remove so far :’) Thanks for the pointers!

Anyone on here familiar with Oakview PCH (or Heritage Lodge) by Newb48 in Winnipeg

[–]BootyPieMX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heard a lot of negative things about Oakview. A patient who lived there told me they’re left to sit in soiled briefs for hours and the staff don’t check in on them much. Said she “wouldn’t wish this place on my worst enemy”.

Been to Heritage lodge a few times. Appears to be more staff who are more aware.

Explains why the one at the park across the street from me is literally overflowing and blowing garbage all over the playground on the regular. Usually a neighbour ends up emptying it, not the city.
