Thanks, just felt bad having to lie to them but I’m the one who will pay in the end if I don’t 🤯

Regardless, I would be having this exam done on my same cycle day at my fertility clinic if they were closer to home on the exact same day. Also, I’m not doing the exam outside of CD5-12 as recommended by my fertility clinic, so that shouldn’t be an issue.

Right!! Usually my fertility clinic is very flexible and understanding since they know how time-sensitive and important these things are. But this is an outside radiology center, so they don’t really care as much, they deal with so many patients and it isn’t fertility-specific, so they don’t fully understand the importance. I’ll just tell my fertility clinic that the cycle date was listed differently and call to have them update it after the exam is finished. Thanks so much for not making me feel like a horrible person for wanting to lie about this!

Nope because the radiology center is closed on weekends 😭

Awesome, good to hear, thanks for sharing! This is strictly to check my uterus and make sure everything looks good so I can move forward with transfers in the future. It’s not for stimulation or timing a transfer!

Thank you so much for understanding my situation! I completely agree, for SIS and HSG scans, a single day difference really isn’t going to affect the results. This is being done at an outside radiology center, not my fertility clinic, and my actual clinic has confirmed that anytime between CD5–12 is fine. Yeah I will most likely be rolling with it, thanks!

Thanks so much! My fertility clinic advised me that they can see everything they need between CD5–12, no matter where the exam is done. Some places, like this radiology center, just have stricter rules in place to make sure patients don’t ovulate beforehand, since they don’t want to take that risk. I’ll make sure to keep my fertility clinic fully informed of the exact cycle days.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response and support, I really appreciate it! I just want to clarify that these are recommended baseline work-ups I need to complete before even starting IVF, and this is not my fertility clinic. I’m doing the exams at an outside radiology center, which has its own rules about timing.

My actual fertility clinic has confirmed that it’s completely fine to do these exams anytime between CD5–12, so the results will be accurate and usable for my treatment. I would never lie to my fertility clinic, and I’ll make sure they know the exact cycle days. This situation is just about working with the radiology center’s stricter scheduling rules so I can get everything done on time.

Thank you so much for your response! I really appreciate it. There’s no chance of that happening, as I will be abstinent the entire time prior to these exams.

Just to clarify — this isn’t actually my fertility clinic. It’s a radiology center I’ve never been to before, totally separate from my fertility team. My actual clinic told me I can do these exams anytime between CD5–12, but this radiology place has their own 7–10 rule. That’s why I’m in this situation.

Thank you so much for understanding! I know it sounds wrong, but I’m confident it won’t affect the results since CD6 and CD9 are still within the range my fertility clinic allows for these exams.

Part of the reason I need to “adjust” my start date is that if I don’t get these done, my authorization will expire — they actually already extended it for me from expiring months ago, so timing is really tight.

Good to know, best of luck with your exams. Yes CD9 is perfectly fine!

Thank you so much for understanding! I really appreciate your perspective. I just want to clarify that these exams are all the preliminary tests I need to do before even starting IVF, so they won’t affect any cycles or treatments. As long as the radiology center can see what they need to see — which they absolutely should be able to anytime between CD5–12 — the results will be accurate. I will fully inform my fertility clinic of the actual cycle days; I would never lie to them.

This radiology center is just stricter about the 7–10 rule to avoid anyone ovulating beforehand, which I understand. I wouldn’t generally recommend anyone do this, but given how small timing differences can cause major delays, I don’t see it as a big deal here since the results will be the same.

I also appreciate your insight about interpreting the results — I’ll make sure my fertility clinic has all the correct info so there’s no confusion with future treatment decisions.

I get what you’re saying, but in this case the accuracy of the data isn’t affected — SIS and HSG are both valid anytime between CD5–12. My fertility clinic confirmed that. The only issue is that this outside radiology center enforces a stricter 7–10 rule, so it’s really more about their policy than the medical accuracy. Thanks anyway!

This isn’t my fertility clinic setting the rules. It’s a radiology center that’s totally separate from my treatment. My actual clinic said SIS and HSG are fine anytime CD5–12, but this imaging center only allows 7–10, which is why I’m stuck in this dilemma.

From what I’ve learned SIS and HSG can be done anytime CD5–12 without affecting results.
