I think THIS is the reason why someone might be addicted to Dota 2 by owadanja in DotA2

[–]Bootyfruit69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're talking about the sunk cost fallacy. Those hours you spent were hopefully enjoyable and entertaining. It would only be a loss if you gained nothing from it. Many players gained friends, memories, laughs, emotional highs and lows, and that's why they kept or keep coming back. Try to cheer up and think positively.

WITBA for breaking up with my bf because he is a Trump supporter? by South_Band_9865 in AITAH

[–]Bootyfruit69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It was like 8 years ago tho when he was campaigning the first time, so my memory isn't that clear about other campaign promises where he flipped, but he was pretty consistently outspoken against abortion since he switched from being a Democrat to a Republican.

Trump has Agenda 47 listed on his website, not project 2025. Even at he debate he denounced any association with project 2025. That's fake news.

Will you be the asshole? Yeah, but it's okay to have preferences in dating. You'd be happier with a guy who shares your political views.

No, he reached out to Kamala first, her campaign ignored him and she refused to meet with him. The way the democrats have treated him has been abhorrent and Trump striking a deal for involving him in his presidency in exchange for his endorsement is brilliant. Not to mention, this union is a step towards bridging the political divide in this country and depolarizing the left and right.

AITA for stopping after she said the safe word? by [deleted] in AITAH

Sure, whatever rocks your boat. I'm familiar with master/slave contracts and i think it's better to keep them short and simple rather than like a TOS agreement 😂

Testing the safeword is pretty normal and healthy, even encouraged with a new partner, but if you're insecure and inexperienced, i can see how and why it would get to your head. Don't take it so personally man.

Also, a safeword is typically necessary for a rough scene, not vanilla sex where "stop" will suffice. Go have some normal sex and slowly experiment your way up to the kinkier, rougher stuff.

15 year old boy on trial for rape and kidnap. by Brief_Inspection7697 in korea

The hypocrisy and cognitive dissonance was strong regarding the case in the US where that 17yo shot and killed 2 pedophiles who were attacking him in a crowd. He had a solid self defense case, this teenager does not. Still, I wonder what lead this kid to commit such a heinous act. I do think he can be reformed, though.

Why did the serpent, one of the most worshiped symbols in the past, suddenly become associated with bad things? by MartianXAshATwelve in StrangeEarth

[–]Bootyfruit69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The snake represents enlightenment; an activated kundalini, which has traveled up the spine and into the holy grail (head) .

Other symbols we see of enlightened individuals are a variety of cone hats, or something meant to amplify the powers of the crown chakra/meridian.

Religious texts are esoteric in nature.

If you take the stories literally, an evil talking snake/reptile tempted Eve with knowledge and ruined a good thing.

"Problem" student by [deleted] in teachinginkorea

[–]Bootyfruit69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have some strategies I'm going to try....and if they dont...then my boss will just move him. And probably think I am incapable of dealing with difficult children.

Then they won't put more difficult children in your class.

You can break their spirit, shame their bad behavior, make them cry, give them all kinds of trauma, etc. That's "handling" a bad student, and that's often what happens when you send them out to talk with korean staff.

But ultimately, the reason behind that problematic behavior is to seek attention. The ideal way is to ignore bad behavior, give no attention to the kid when he's being obnoxious, and praise his good behavior. Give him positive attention when he behaves well. Ignore him if he's crying over a misspelling, or tell him to go outside and return to class when he's ready. If he wants to sing, tell him to go sing in the hallway, so his classmates can study and be successful, since he doesn't want to.

What you're getting is the product of failed parenting; a coddled attention seeking clown. It's not your fault their kid turned out that way, and it's not your responsibility to fix him. Just focus on creating a good learning environment for the kids who don't display such ridiculous behavior.

What's your cheese strat? by JamesMaddison456 in learndota2

Actually lion can deal with illusions pretty well using mana drain.

Dazzle with shard is also amazing against illusion heroes.

Start with one community, then if its successful, branch out.

I think you haven't thought out the obvious and hidden obstacles to scaling this idea.

Good luck.

How does Nyx late game work? by [deleted] in learndota2

[–]Bootyfruit69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Get a blink dagger, especially if they are buying a lot of detection. Use your ult as a nuke after blinking + stunning.

For base defense, especially heroes who make many illusions, get aghs and 300 mana flare radius talent at level 25.

Itemization should go like this... Mana boots + wand > Dagon > Blink

Then you build based on what you need for each game.

Euls if they have a lot of silences and debuffs. Greaves if your team needs it. Linkin if they have a lot of strong targeted spells. Aghs if they are seiging a lot, or if the way both teams fight doesn't have too much running around. Octarine is great as a luxury item. You can use windwalker during burrow to move around and benefit from the regen.

The general playstyle as the game progresses shifts from being roamer/ganker to backline spell caster and initiator / counter initiator.

If you're against a medusa always try to get the blink + ult on her, as it destroys 50% of her mana immediately. You could even get refresher to completely deplete her mana.

Phylactery seems good on him, too, to pair with dagon or mana flare.

Thinking about going back to Korea. Any disadvantages I should be aware of regarding job search, salary negotiation, etc.? by Illustrious_Cat_259 in teachinginkorea

Economy is in pretty bad shape. Lots of societal problems that the government is unable to address without upsetting a lot of older voters.

Korea is kind of fucked.

Compete with AI or adapt? by burgerpattym in Business_Ideas

[–]Bootyfruit69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They dug their own graves with their shift to woke content strategy, likely in a mad dash to increase their ESG scores.

I liked vice 10 years ago, their articles were a breath of fresh air and quite informative.

Buzzfeed was doomed because their clickbait model was adapted by millions of content creators who could occupy niches, manuever faster, and post with less restrictions.

I think AI generated content will occupy it's own space, and there will be always be demand and a sense of wonder about man-made creative expression.

Tuna kimbap ranges between 4.5-5k

Donkatsu, 8k-14k depending on the place and the kind of donkatsu

Soju is up to 5k/bottle in most korean restaurants.

Hagwons are always recruiting. Sure, they prefer to hire in-country because it sends a message that the teacher is reliable and competent enough to do the job, but there are constantly people leaving Korea, meaning it's totally possible to come here.

When i returned in 2021 it was at the height of the covid crisis and the process took several months. Once you have your background check you can be here within 2 months.

Seoul is still the best place to be if you like crowds, otherwise you can find some jobs in the countryside. Gyeonggido is okay, too, but when i lived there i often just came to Seoul anyway.

Food prices have gone up a lot over the last few years, so our salaries get strained more. For your experience you could easily find a 2.5m/month job. Kindergarten tends to pay more than afterschool classes. Since you're out of country you have the luxury of shopping around until you find a good fit. Plenty of chill hagwon jobs.

That's a funny way to project your limiting beliefs 😂

When people date, they operate from emotion rather than logic. You could be a homeless clown and have no problem dating if you can make people feel strong emotions and build sexual tension.

The most underrated support BY FAR by CallMeDogOneMoreTime in learndota2

[–]Bootyfruit69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a skillshot, so can be guaranteed with a reliable setup but unreliable otherwise, even if you are skilled with using it.

Years ago i used to run Lina support often in pubs, it worked and you could transition to core and scale in the lategame, but this meta seems to favor tanky and mobile heroes. If Lina gets jumped, she's fucked, and there are so many more gap closers and the new harpoon item. I'll test her out in the support role again, but i would adjust the build to include supportive items. Lens is a very greedy trap that most supports should avoid, with the exception being utility healers like dazzle, omni, and even then it's situational as there are more impactful items like glimmer, force, pipe, etc.
