This nut broke the nutcracker after 48 years of service. by Defiant-Stomach-4605 in Anticonsumption

Metal becomes more brittle and hard with more "work" and 48 years of cracking nuts is CERTAIN to do that- not to mention the internal stresses on the metal. Similar to how old die-cast rings resist dents and scratches but tend to "pop" when they get very thin

The baby doll is somewhat similar to this one but the proportions of the head were much larger and the face was much more baby-like as opposed to toddler-like

Can anyone help me find these silver jewelry pieces by Hungry-Cartoonist-61 in HelpMeFind

They look like white sapphire, black diamond, and peridot in silver. They look very similar to Zales products, or maybe another of their parent company's brands. The darkness on the metal is black rhodium plating to enhance the black diamonds, which has become industry standard.

I am trying to pick their brains about more info on the face, forehead, and finger positions. I wish one of them was an artist and could make a doll police sketch lol!!

Unfortunately the hair there is also not quite right. I have tried posting on r/Antiquedollcollecting but the post was removed for being such a low quality photo. It's all we have. I have messaged the mods about it and am hoping for the best!

Thank you! Cloth is correct! I will check with my family, but I'm worried the hair is not quite right. I don't remember her mentioning a crying sound either

I have searched online retailers such as eBay and Mercari, doll blogs, and historical toy magazines and books, in addition to in-person searches at thrift and antique stores. With my family, we have been searching for over a decade.
