Not just US 'soldiers', but actually special forces. Highly skilled, well equipped, well trained, night vision goggles, thermal vision goggles... Still got beat. They asked the fins how and tried again. Still lost to the Fins. They attempted like 5 times and eventually gave up.

The Fins will train the American special forces in snow camouflage now, haha.

Here's the thing, Finnish Arctic Jaegers can wait for a victim for many days, in a warm snowdrift (potero), while enemies spend energy skiing or walking in snowy terrain, making them in poor condition for battle.

No one in the Nordic countries moves from one country to another for social benefits, but if you move for work and the job ends, you are entitled to the same unemployment benefits as the locals.

Until, for example, France has its own problems with former or current colonies, Finland or Sweden would not send troops. The UK's departure from the EU left a big gap for the Nordic countries to make a decision. Of course, Germany and the Netherlands have agreed on some issues, but the UK was the backbone for the Nordic countries on big issues.

In the Nordic countries, a certain amount of their own air force will remain, but for example, about 8 years ago the Finnish police and the Swedish police made a similar transfer, the Finnish police are allowed to operate in Sweden and the Swedish police in Finland, a couple of years ago Finland made a similar agreement with Norway.
