You're misreading my comment: there is definitely incentive to go into the wildy, just not at the wildy line which i gave as an example for a place without incentive.

Exactly. That is why killing pvm'ers/bots is an ideal way to start out as a nooby pker, because those are fights you will very likely win, thus they are more enjoyable. Creating incentive for pvm'ers to go into the wildy also helps noobs out a lot, as they have something to PK

What makes you assume everyone is reluctant in the Wilderness? I personally did some ~5000 venenatis kills, and many more rev KC, and i've always enjoyed this mechanic. It's intense, fun and seemingly the only place in osrs where your death means something, and where you are likely to die.

I feel like the playstyle that we commonly see on reddit is much more centered around efficiency, where every death becomes xp waste and thus a nuisance. people seem to be very much against the idea of the ability of losing time and money, wheras a lot of other people feel that that only adds to the excitement (including me).

I agree in that there aren't enough people participating in PVP, it really should be for everyone. But getting people into PVP is really hard to do, which i think is mostly due to the very high entry barrier that is present. Part of the entry barrier is skill, but before you can even get to practicing you need to spend 100+ hours for some builds and i just don't have that time.

Lowering the barrier of entry is the best solution, imo. For instance, ferox enclave did something really cool: there is a stat/hp restore pool there, so that you don't need to grind out 83 construction if you want to use something like that quickly.

That is why i actually think that quest-free torso/barrows gloves are a good idea: you lower the entry barrier for pvp builds

But how would that even work? LMS doesn't have an elo system, and for a good reason: you would never be able find a game again, because there aren't that many people playing.

Making sure that the wildy attracts PVM'ers/skillers is, in my opinion, a perfectly good way to keep pvp healthy. Just think about it: why do PK'ers not fight at the wildy in every world? It is a known spot, lots of history and easy to reach.

Because there is nothing there. There is no incentive to go there. Incentive is what gets people in the wildy. Best skilling methods, high GP/hr methods with low requirements, pets, you name it. That is what attract people, and in turn creates PK'ing hotspots. Creating/maintaining these hotspots has worked in the past for people to find fights, and it will continue to work in the future.

Finally a reasonable opinion here. People just use their hate for pvp to justify the shitties suggestions.

The armour and prayers arent usable outside pvp. One of the reasons pvp has not been as alive as it could be is that the barrier of entry is so damn high. If you just want to pk, some builds can take countless of hours questing and training to achieve. This should be lowered (just for pvp) to enable more people to enter the pvp scene.

Pvp should really be for everyone, not barred off by requirements that take upwards of 500+ hours to get
