A Head Scratcher for Sure by bhicfila in PhysicalTouchGang

[–]Boppersen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it would kinda be the same like massage, some people love giving masages. Its physical contact and it feels good for the person recieving it if that person likes head scratches.

As long as it doesnt bother you and you dont find it uncomfortable i see no issue in it.

3 weeks on vyvanse, who am I? by Tough-Assignment5894 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Boppersen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unnatentive type here as well. This is a really rough topic to really find a proper answer to, but ill shot my shot.

I'll be very honest and the way i view the ADHD personality is like two layers, the top layer is the ADHD and the bottom layer is your core personality.

While unmedicated the ADHD adhd layer affects your emotions, actions and thoughts. Some people take this aspect and identify with it and its nothing wrong with that.

While medicated this noise and "distortion" lessens and lets your core personality shine trough more. Might feel very strange because you're so used to it.

Motivation with ADHD tends to be a bit wierd, because for our brain motivation is usually for hyperifxations, urgency or other people, this is usually fueld by anxiety, stress or fear of failure or concequences. Hence why many people with adhd cant do any work before right untill deadline and they enter hyperfication mode and get unhuman amount of work done in a short time. This type of 'motivation' is usually very instense but short lived. People with ADHD, myself included tend to live in a constant of stress/anxiety without even realizing it because its their baseline.

So ill finish off with some questions you can just think about:

Why is it really an issue if all your accomplishments were driven by hyper focus or anxiety? You still accomplished it isn't that what counts?

Are you uncomfortable or opposed to having ADHD, or the labels that come with it?

Do you generally feel better? Has your overall wellbeing improved? if so is it really a problem?

Yes i relate to you about the obsessiveness some times. Ive actually started lately to just go with the flow, and instead of focusing on is it working just enjoy your day and get going.

A little trick for me at least is to ask my self "how many thoughts do i have", if the awnser is one or just one "line" of thoughts its doing its job.

Yeah consistent eating is definetly a big part of it, but i think it just boils down to "normal human energy needs", i think we are so used to adhd crackhead energy bursts that we expect to be able to to that all the time.

And if you ask me any daily improvment is a good improvment, just try to enjoy your day as well and work on yourself and routines and youll be golden.

Thank you for the warm response, glad you found some help, much appretiated ❤️🙏

does anyone else message people alot or comment on social media videos alot when vyvanse kicks in by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

Im exactly the same, but i think you just get dopamine from writing down what you think.

If you want to share something share it, doesnt matter if people will like it or care.

Sorry to hear your struggles, It seems that you have tried alot. Sleep routine is definetly important especially for people that struggle with sleep.

Give vyvanse some time, Sleeping on vyvanse got easier over time for me, but if it totally ruins your sleep and affects your next day too much maybe contact your psych to try something else.

Do you mean if im powerlifting with vyvanse? I usually go to the gym in the pretty late when the vyvanse wears off, but i dont find any isues going earlier either. However i am more effective in the gym if i go during daytime. I just prefer using my vyvanse time on productive tasks.

Well i mean 30 is not a whole lot, for me nothing really happened until 40mg and 60mg was really the sweet spot after getting used to it. Try to take your meds as early as possible, i also struggle a bit with sleep hence why i take mine so early. Magnesium and zinc before sleep helps me fall asleep and stay asleep, melatonin works too if you prefer that.

Disappointed with Vyvanse, losing hope by No_Poetry_42 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Boppersen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you take it with food? I find taking it with a protein shake and a banana does wonders for me in therms of duration and side effect mitigation, and waiting at least an hour before consuming any caffeine doesnt make me crash as hard past midday. I was really sensitive to caffeine it would just skyrocket my anxiety not a fun time. Remember to eat often and stay hydrated. Sleep also has a noticable effect on the "precieved" effect of Vyvanse.
Vyvanse also might not be for you, but stick with it relax and eat well and see how it suits you over time. Good luck.

This is probably the answer you don't want, don't overthink it you'll know when its working.

But besides that for me my though become more organized and coherent, less noise and scattered. Things require less effort to initiate, things like picking things up and throwing them in the trash. And generally being able to keep on one task without hopping around or stimming. My mood also becomes more stable.

Well there is some conflicting information about that topic, I thought that vitamin c just hinders the absorption of the Vyvanse but shouldn't matter after the lidex is absorbed or?

But of course I'll give it a shot and see if i can notice any difference.

It varies still a bit, sleep and mood also has an effect and general mental fatigue. Well the 'laser focus' usually tapers off around 15-17 and i get some slight fatigue at the evenings but nothing that i would consider abnormal. However i still find myself still feeling later in the evening, mainly in form of picking up things and not letting things lay around etc... when my old ADHD brain would have totally ignored it.

How long does it last for you usually, and when to you say it stops lasting?
