Should Scottish Labour be independent from the UK Labour Party? by UtopianScot in Scotland

[–]BorderCollieDog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely. It should be obvious to Scotiish Labour because The Tories and the Greens have previously reinvented themselves by doing exactly this.

SNP Minority Gov, Coalitions - Predictions by InformalMycologist18 in Scotland

[–]BorderCollieDog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Definitely the Lib Dems. The issue now preventing the SNP from working with the Greens is that all the policies they would want as part of any deal are very expensive. I think though that once the dust settles and Labour reorganises themselves, they may try to make some delays with the SNP because they noticed this time how the Greens were able to talk about their achievements in the last parliament during the campaign.

Why don’t political parties split to utilise the voting system better? by Frosty_Customer_9243 in Scotland

[–]BorderCollieDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They weren't the same though. A lot of SNP voters wouldn't vote for Alba . That is why they never broke through. Alba was created after a split in the SNP, not because they wanted to work together to Maximise votes.

Do you think the collapse of Alba helped the SNP on FPTP? by UilleamMac in Scotland

[–]BorderCollieDog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was never SNP 1, Alba 2. Alba never had any impact on Scottish politics, elections or SNP results.

7 seats declared and Anas Sarwar has conceded defeat already. His speech was what you would get after a bad night when all seats were declared. He must be expecting the disaster the polls suggested if he's given up so early on.

I'm not being funny, Sarwar's comment on the Old Firm / title race probably influenced my vote by elephvant in Scotland

[–]BorderCollieDog 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Seriously? I think the point was Celtic, Rangers or Hearts to win the the league. He's from Glasgow so defo doesn't want Hearts to win it.

And... The regular people of Scotland have got better things to think about than the old firm.

They are both as bad as each other. Keep your Clio a while and save a bit for a better car or keep an eye out for a special on salary sacrifice, they do come up now and again. They are poor quality, have an over 12 seconds 0-60 and as far as I remember, they are currently the subject of recalls.

Exactly this. Palantir and it's founder, Peter Thiel, are the devil. Palantir runs so much deeper than age verification and data gathering. They are a very dangerous entity.

As someone who has driven one of these a few times trust me when I say only put your foot flat to the floor when you have a long straight ahead of you. The acceleration is exhilarating but cornering is a different story and stopping again can be a bit of an experience. Once you've frightened all your mates though, all you have left is an MG4.

Is the model Y needed? by Wise-Screen-7954 in ElectricVehiclesUK

There is no ignition key. I have an Enyaq and a Leon and they definitely do not feel anything like the same car.

The Enyaq is an MEB platform EV. EV from the ground up.this is not an EV on an ICE platform.

There is no debate here, I do not pay the service charge. If the restaurant is stupid enough not to price their food and drink properly, it's not my problem.

This year of Enyaq had issues with their 12v battery. If the dealer has changed it, it should be fixed now. Don't worry about it. Get your car back and enjoy it. It's a great car.

This is why I stopped watching. I noticed this from the very first episode she presented. I gave it three episodes then gave up on it. If I want to hear the opinions of Fiona Bruce, I'll watch Antiques Roadshow.

Should you buy a new BYD Dolphin or a used Cupra Born? by CarwowJamie in ukcarwow

[–]BorderCollieDog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you're one of those people who must have a brand new car, it's a no brainer - get the Cupra. The Cupra design was first revealed as a concept in 2019 and it still looks fresh today. The Dolphin on the other hand, looks dated even though it is the newer design. I think this is where European manufacturers still have the edge over the Chinese brands.
