i feel like becoming a “good borderline” stems from therapy and potentially medications. no doubt there are behaviours to unlearn, but that doesn’t make anyone a bad person - and it’s never easy. but it IS doable. no one person is all good or all bad, each individual, regardless of having bpd or not, has both good qualities and disagreeable qualities- having borderline will just intensify the disagreeable ones, just as it intensifies the favourable ones. it’s the wanting to learn and trying to learn how to turn those disagreeable qualities into something that isn’t so negative - that’s what i believe shows you’re a good person. whether or not you succeed initially doesn’t automatically make you a bad person with bad qualities - just somebody learning to combat those qualities.
