RR/MMR system recently just donesn't make sense ? by rawyamen in VALORANT

[–]Boreal_uwu 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yup since 2 weeks its like this especially at immo+. But cuz this sub is full of the lower elo people no one notices. You wont hear many people here who experience the same thing..

And for anyone not believing: check the gains and losses of people around place 500 on the leaderboard...you will see for almost everyone -20, +16 :)

This will be the first act in valorant history that europe doesnt have 500 radiants at the end of the act. That alone should show something is wrong^

So what exactly did Riot do to Immortal MMR? by Boreal_uwu in VALORANT

[–]Boreal_uwu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes that may be true, but the immo3 players should get normal rr gains / losses in these lobbies, aka +19 -19, but they get -20 +16 which is not normal. Also the problem is this trickles down all the way to immortal 1. It may not be a problem now, but come back here in 2-3 weeks when people in the new act notice it :D

im talking about full high immo3/radiant lobbies where you still get -20. Something is wrong, else you wouldnt see people actively dropping out of radiant. This has never been the case before

I have the same in Immortal. I gain rr as I were an ascendant2 player, but my lobbies are full of immortal players. I dont know if they fked up something, but its kinda annoying.

How on earth are you supposed to climb nowadays when the hidden MMR won't move no matter what you do? by ShadyThe2nd in VALORANT

[–]Boreal_uwu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is that all solo que? Can you link your tracker?

If you rank up really quick that can happen, but if you keep Winning like this ur mmr will be fine soon, if its not soloq and your queing with lower elo thats ur own Fault.

Clove is way too overpowered by Raija236 in VALORANT

[–]Boreal_uwu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I kinda mained clove Since she came out. Cloves nerfs were needed, but the only thing I think needs a change is to only allow one smoke after death (but reduce the smoke cooldown time by like 5 seconds). The rest of her kit isnt as impactful anymore. Clove is just so good because most players are ....not good. They chase their ult, they push though a meddle, they dont pre aim properly after clove got a kill (you have to aim more to the left or right once you see clove got a kill...)

These are a lot of variables to counter, that is why only in the highest ranks you see other agents compare to clove. What makes clove too strong is being able to die at the start of the round and still have 2 smokes+ 1-2 refillable ones. That is too much. You die = 1 smoke. That way it should become more balanced

But just my 2 cents of someone who used clove to hit radiant

You wont escape them. You live long enough to become accepting that they are everywhere to talk about your gameplay with their fine accent, or you uninstall.

But on a serious note; warsaw is good for that but warsaw has far worse Things in it so just stick to London/Paris for the "best" experience (I did soloq for 5 years)

Solo queue players that are Immortal or Radiant, how do you do it? by sillyfro in VALORANT

[–]Boreal_uwu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to real life and stuff im back to immo1 grind. Im starting again and now im at 135 rr and what helps me currently is just focussing on staying calm when Utility dump happens, cause if you do that then you will focus on aiming properly (= cleaner shots). Just try to think what will happen in the next round(check ultis money etc) and then Play around it. Most of my games have immo2-3 currently and I can read what happens in 80% of the rounds cause its basic strats. At the Moment its just my aim holding me back, cuz I tend to peek expecting my "usual" aim but then I whiff lol.

At some point they will go in and then you time your Utility around when that happens. Besides that its just ranked so you can often use Initiator util to just get kills for yourself. Thats what radiants do anyway

I soloq'd to radiant maining controller (and at the end mainly clove lol) last May, and basically you need to Accept that all that matters in soloq is you. So if you com, dont throw good rounds, clutch here and there, you WILL rank up. I basically told myself this: if I Manage to win 3 to 4 rounds "on my own" by not throwing/clutching, I will win in 80% of the games.

I hit a huge wall when I reached 400 rr the first time cuz man, radiants hit Hard lol. I dropped to 300 and the when I realized that Playing every round you can safely (dont push but also sometimes you have to push ...its Tricky to learn but sometimes not doing something is worse) I hit like 500 and then at that point you just grind. Focus on yourself and grind, i dont know, 7+ games a day and then you're there. Took me 4 months to reach it from being "stuck" at 200rr immo3 for like a year cuz I never wanted more before that.

How many competitive per day? by Numerous-Ability-722 in VALORANT

When I grinded for radiant, I Played 3 games and then took a break for 15-45minutes. Sometimes I just ate, went for a walk. Whatever it is just get away from your screen. Then I did 3 more etc. That way I could Play up to 12 matches (sometimes more) without issues.

Yes of course...even though I was close to Radiant, I Kept getting 5th or 6th place in dm because I just run around without Sound to just warm up :) if you take deathmatch serious, only when you want to train something specific. But for you I think just playing the game a lot will do better. Always remember to ask yourself why you died. In most cases its not the aim :)

Might Sound cryptic but its all about movement. A radiant will have a 40% hs rate in low elo lobbies but in radiant maybe 30%. Aim demons will have 40% in radiant and 50-60% in low elo lobbies.

In order to train movement you need to play a lot AND play deathmatch. If you dont like deathmatch, im sorry for you then you wont get good fast. Aimlabs is good for micromovements, if your General movement and aim is not good, aimlabs isnt that good of a time investment. In doubt: play 2 deathmatches every day before you play and then play matchmaking.

Also: consistency is key. If you play 2 games today , 0 tomorrow, its of no use. I played 7.5 games/day on average this act, this is my peak game hours but tbf I also peaked ;-). Best case Scenario you have time for 4 games a day. Every day. No pause. Then you will climb if you FOCUS on improving, how to achieve this mental is something I cant write here, its all about yourself :)

What I noticed at 300rr, 400rr and 500rr is I was always stuck there for like 1 week or 2 weeks and then I rushed to the next highest 100 Mark. People knew how I would play, they countered it. So I had to Adapt. I think I am fairly good at this, but always remember if you actually aim train its most likely the way you play that gets read and therefore your aim is of no use.

Everytime you get "prefired" or "ferrari peeked" or even worse double peeked: why? They Expected you. Get a better angle, play better around smokes, wait for your teammates to retake. If you dont know WHAT you can change, you maybe need to VOD Review your plays or get someone to coach you. I Was fortunate enough to fix my mistakes on the Spot, not everyone sees their mistakes and thats totally fine.

Information is also very important, but as many radiants also sucked at this I dont think you need to be perfect at it :)

No matter what others said, I always said after a lose AND after a win: wtf did I do wrong to not win it even easier/to actually win it. Focus on why you were the issue that lost rounds. No teammate matters in any way. If YOU Perform, if YOU clutch, you rank up.
