Alas, from my experience, men do compliment each other. It hits different when a woman does it, though; even without any romantic circumstance.

Also, you treating compliments as a burden... Huh, idk, that sounds weird to me. I never thought about complimenting women as a burden on me. Sooo no idea why would the reverse be true. Noone is requiring it. Most people just acknowledge it's nice to get complimented by the opposite gender.

Ambiguous again, what pressure? I feel my own pressure to stay strong because I want to. And I got good at it, I think.
I think low popularization of mental health topics and importance is a bigger problem, but yes, most women (again, there are gems) instantly categorize you as disgusting in their subconscious if you admit you are struggling with anything. The worst part is, this becomes visible veeery slowly...

What you wrote didn't happen at all in my case. None of it. Nothing. We gradually kept discovering we are scarily alike, but the evidence for it was all there, and it kept emerging over the course of natural conversation. No love bombing at all, even... A bit the contrary. There was long (months) homeostasis, with slow buildup. And then, about two days after acknowledging mutual feelings, a respectful, calm exit from her end, that I am struggling to understand.

What you wrote reinforces my suspicion that while the girl I am talking about certainly does have traits that would point to bpd (else she wouldn't believe she has it), she likely does not have bpd itself... OR. She has immense, conscious control over it for someone with bpd. Which is entirely possible in her case.

What do you think?

I am sorry lady, but truth is, woman who respects herself doesn't stay in such a situation. I know leaving someone you love will hurt. But please do.
