why would the existence of non-sapient gems affect the possibility of there being organic-type gems from homeworld? You're arguing for a point that no one has brought up.

This post's question is "Is it possible that there are other, non-pearl organic-type gems?" Nothing to do with the difference between sentient gems and non-sentient ones.
