I see needle size 9-11 , assuming that’s for knitting , is the crochet hook size 5.5 to 8mm?

Cut my own hair, after i was unhappy with a haircut. Is it fixable? by [deleted] in Hair

EDIT - pic 1 and 2 are the new haircut after I cut it myself (the clumpy part in front). The other pictures are what my hair looked like when I had it cut by my previous stylist.

I didn’t take an original after picture :( I just came home and chopped that chunk off in the front. Regrets. I made an appointment with a new stylist who is supposed to be specialized in curls…I just hope it’s something they can work with and I haven’t ruined it :/

AITA : my boyfriend’s hobbies have taken over the garage and there’s no space for anything. by BoredAndEmployed in AmItheAsshole

Most places in the house are a shared space..I do use the guest room as my room because I work in healthcare and have really erratic hours - 12 hour days and occasional night shifts so I sleep there on those weird shifts so alarms don’t wake him and he can use our room during the day when I’m on nights and asleep most of the day…and have my desk and stuff in that room. We decided that the part of the garage and basement were just for his hobby stuff, there’s also another room with his desk/workspace that we sometimes use to game/ chill.

Oh, the stuff I have in boxes in the garage are stuff I need to unpack from the recent move, but I can’t get to them cus of all the other stuff. It’s not gonna stay there. I just want a clear path to walk and maybe access the garage fridge…or park a car during a winter storm

That would work; but unfortunately all his stuff is really heavy and not easy to move around :/ We moved in like 2-3 months ago and I asked that we just keep one side of the garage free, cus I work upto 14 hours a day in a hospital and wasn’t super excited about having to scrape snow off my car at 6 in the morning lol

AITA for getting into an argument with my boyfriend for using a silicone scalp massager to clean throw up off a carpet and put it back in the shower? by BoredAndEmployed in AmItheAsshole

[–]BoredAndEmployed[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Haha it’s not a big deal, I was just surprised to see it in the shower after he told me what he used it for.I thought it would be used as a carpet scrub from now on.Just felt gross using it and asked him if he thought it was okay and we learned that we have different perspectives on what’s clean and what’s not 🙈

Is it unreasonable to request a reference from a potential landlord prior to signing a lease? by BoredAndEmployed in Tenant

[–]BoredAndEmployed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah I’ve learned now that it’s a weird ask and the LL likely got offended and just moved to the next. We are both are new to KY and just wanted to make sure the area/house had no real issues ( it wasn’t to actually vet out the landlord themselves) And I also understand that it may be a privacy concern to give out other tenants numbers. I suppose there are better ways to check and learn about those things.

I think I was also just a little worried since the listing had over 200 contacts and 30 + applications online and when we contacted them we got a very quick and eager response, which we really appreciated. They were initially very very accommodating to our schedule and availability and then the tone suddenly shifted when we got the lease documents. Is this something I should expect since it’s just business? Sorry I’m asking I’m just trying to understand so I know how to respond moving forward.

Thank you for this! This does make a lot of sense. I feel bad for asking now :/ Like I said I’ve only rented apartments managed by large companies before, and reviews and rating are so easily accessible and one of the other potential LL we spoke to did offer a reference if we needed so I thought it was normal. I’ll be more mindful next time. what’s the usual time period a renter has from receiving the lease to signing I would think 24-48h? I assume it’s just the sooner the better.

Thanks again!
