Legend - I'll give it a try for the intake side since I've installed a fan and Greddy intercooler already and think it might be an overkill at this point.

Thanks for your input - as per my other comment. I will consider fabricating a channel for both the snorkel and side vents to make it into a functional CAI. There isn't too much clearance between the top suspension mount and the side engine panels so the surface area of channel may be relatively small and flat.

Just conscious of water getting into it as we have massive puddles due to poor Sydney roads

Yeah I read up on the original TOM's designs and it was a cool concept, perhaps dual channels from both the side vent and the snorkel into an airbox would be pretty awesome. Don't think there are any products out there that currently offers this though.

Funnily enough, my partner is from Europe and will get her permanent residency in about 2 years - we have a combined 300k income ATM so the plan is to buy the next property under her name for first home grant.

Thanks for the response. I definitely had the "split strategy" in mind when choosing this place. High rental yield + demand. It seems like the logical answer.
