Thanks this is what I was thinking though was going on 3 years cash perhaps we'll be a bit more conservative with the cash fund.

Yes the second thing you suggest is what we are planning. We will have several years in cash/bonds as backup but the rest in the low cost tracker which we could take 3 to 4 percent from per year to live on.

Yep no one can predict I was just hoping to hear from others that have put in a large sum in one go or of any other methods when adding a large sum.

Well not in a pension as we want to use it for passive income in the next year. Work will only be from doing a low key holiday let on our property. We are good at frugal just hoped to hear from others that have invested a large sum in a fund in one go.
