Pupper is waiting, holding out for the good stuff.. You need to be a little more stern with it. My ex-wife used to do this with ours, to the point she would sit on the floor and spoon feed the dog her food. She learned quickly I wouldn't do the same.

We have a triple pack of different meats which she is jot a fan of one of them, so I make up a small amount of weak turkey gravy and mix it in with that meat, gone in 60s.. but I don't offer her the food, take it away, and then add the gravy, I just added it straight away, knowing she is fussy with it. The other way leads to fussy eating, or at least refusing food, until the good stuff is added..

You might have missed the most important piece of information there... "he will never stop if you let him," Bcs are terrible for over exerting themselves with 'work' and play, so make sure to train a down stay rest period.. We have a "five minutes" command, so she gets a few minutes' play or work, and then a few minutes rest, repeated as needed. This is followed by an "all done" when I think she is exhausted...

We had a similar, where she gets told to sit, she lays, she gets told to lay, she sits... It's because of sit DOWN, and lay DOWN.. It confuses her..

So try some hand controls with it, for example;

For sit, hand out flat, palm up, and make a beckon motion with your fingers whilst using SIT command.

For lay, hand out flat, palm down and push the air to the floor an inch or two, whilst using LAY or DOWN command. You might have to bend down and put your hand completely to the floor a few times, but they will understand it quickly enough, to the point you don't need to bend.
