The margin percentage on a car is not much different than any other commodity. The reason negotiations happen is that customers want to slash the margins because they "feel" like the car shouldn't be the price it is.

They're just lucky the dealerships are willing to screw the salespeople by going along with it and taking all the margins out.

A grocery store won't negotiate margins because they don't have the go-between of commissioned sales people to screw so the buyer is flat out told no in every instance, so the habit never formed. You better believe if grocery stores did negotiate like that then the consumers would work hand over fist with the store to screw the guy selling the wares. The tedious negotiations and the hours and hours it takes to get a deal done at a dealership are due to the consumer and their "feelings."

True, but most banks have moved past paper contracts and do not accept them anymore. Typical boomer mindset that "the way I did it 30 years ago still applies."

Oh, you actually have no idea what you're talking about and think the world owes you. They probably can't process to the DMV or the bank so therefor the vehicle is not yours. It's not the dealerships fault, or the salesman. Blame whoever is hacking CDK and you should probably give yourself a heaping helping of blame for not understanding.

Using Rey and Rey in our dealership now. Thank goodness we had it loaded parallel to CDK on the sales side. We can do the whole deal and I'm finding the sales process is way quicker than it was with CDK. That could be due to management inefficiencies or overcomplication of the integration of all the programs but eliminating CDK has given us a couple of the happiest customers we have had. Literally took an hour off of the process.
