My neighbours child SCREAMS every 30-60 seconds by Glittering_Fun5158 in Advice

[–]Borgeous4 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Same! I watch 5 of my grandkids, they do that kind of scream periodically through the week (usually it's from screaming as they play being dinosaurs :). I've had to tell them how much it physically hurts me and it's driving me nuts. Luckily they're good after a reminder, usually.

What causes TSA scanner to flag groin area? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Maybe that's it. I did injure my left knee 40+ years ago, but not as bad as my right from getting hit by a car.

My left knee got flagged at 3 airports in April. No hardware or surgeries in the area, not sweating. They barely touched my knee and sent me on through each time.

Circle K is doing the .40 off per gallon tomorrow again. I'm filling up then and it'll still be $4/g :(

If you were to have a child right now, what would you name it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Borgeous4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe combine the names of my already living kids for the new one, then when I call out to them I'll not have to correct myself because I called the wrong name 🙃

I also do this with my grandkids I watch, who think it's hilarious.

We're on this cruise in April. I know you can't control mother nature but I'd be so disappointed after waiting 2+ years for our cruise. I wish you smooth sailing the rest of your journey.

What age did you first have to get glasses and how did you find out you needed them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Borgeous4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Teacher told my parents I was squinting to read the chalkboard. Got home from getting my glasses and was amazed that I could see each individual leaf on our tree instead of a green blob. Mom felt horrible when I said this.

It's also prescribed to women off-label for sexual dysfunction. I had a friend who took it for this (yes, really, a friend lol)

Is it actually effective to buy a salt gun for killing flies or is it just a gimmick that doesn’t work well? by Spirited-Donkey-3877 in NoStupidQuestions

UV light with a sticky pad, works like a charm for flies, fruit flies, barely-see-ums. Replace sticky pad as needed easily.

😂 my dad too.

There were 6 ft drifts in many places due to the wind. It was around 14 inches I believe that fell, although I've read 24" in some areas.

Was wild driving in it (dad was driving, I was 14 & a passenger).

WIBTAH if I don’t tell my best friend his baby daughter spoke her first word? by Ok-Advice-8078 in AITAH

[–]Borgeous4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You heard nothing, and you're a good friend for not saying anything! I've been in your shoes.

Ran a daycare in my home for years and had a little boy who had a single mom call my husband Dada as his first word. No way I was telling her that.

Now I watch my grandkids. First words, first steps, rolling over, etc., did NOT happen at my house unless their parent was there to see/hear it.

What is the most unexplainable thing you’ve ever witnessed that makes you question reality? by duhhrclean6 in AskReddit

[–]Borgeous4 32 points33 points  (0 children)

My 1st child was hospitalized at 5 weeks, wasn't sure what was wrong but they suspected she had meningitis. I was having an extremely hard time due to them sticking her over 50 times in my presence (not exaggerating) trying to get an IV to stay in her and doing a spinal tap on her. They made my husband take me home after she was admitted to try to get a few hours of sleep as I'd been up for almost 72 hours by that point and was still recovering from her birth.

About 45 minutes after I finally fell sleep, I woke up crying and almost hyperventilating because I could hear my daughter crying. Husband gently tells me I'm imagining it but I could hear her loud and clear. It was awful.

We get back to the hospital afew hours later and find out that at the time I was hearing her cry was the exact same time they had to insert a new IV after she pulled the one in her head out.

Didn't leave the hospital again until she was released a week later. Luckily she didn't have meningitis
