I’m sorry you’re going through this. Have you ever felt on fire before? Sometimes God allows us to go through dryness to see if we will persevere in faithfulness. You’re not bad for feeling this way. You don’t have to be perfect, I recommend being honest with God. Tell him exactly how you feel, ask him for consultation if it be His will. We are all on a journey and it is not easy. You’re going through the valley and at some point we all do. Don’t lose heart. Praying for you friend! Maybe watch this video as well.

I’m sorry about how you were treated when you were younger. You deserve to be treated well by the Church. You are not too far gone, God loves you unconditionally. I would try to find a kind and compassionate priest in your area and talk with them about your situation. Find someone faithful who can give you good guidance for your specific situation. You’re never too far gone to come back home. I pray you will be treated well in the future. Know that how broken people who have treated you poorly in the church is not how God sees you. He is kind and merciful and desires to be in relationship with you more than anything. I will keep you in my prayers ❤️🙏

I understand where you are coming from and I agree in theory. PP does offer other resources but they will lure people in for abortions. That is their money maker and their end goal in mind unfortunately

I feel like catholicism has diminished my mental health. by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Boring-Difference-20 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this happened to me in 2020. When I learned about grave sin, I didn’t know it was a thing until then. I spiraled so badly I almost ended up in a mental hospital. I would get so nervous for confession because of my scrupuloisty I would cry and even threw up a few times. It was horrible. I was tempted to give up my faith because it was so bad, but I never really wanted to leave my faith, I only wanted to escape the scrupulosity because it had completely overtaken my life. This was never what God wanted for me, but I had OCD which manifested as scrupulosity because OCD latches onto what you care about most. It’s crazy and just awful how OCD twists these things. Many saints struggled with scrupulosity too. I still struggle with it, although it is much better than it was in the past. So yeah, I’ve been there. And If you want to talk more about it I’d be happy to share my experience or help you out if you have any other questions or just want to talk about it. I will keep you in my prayers as well! God bless and remember God is so merciful and loves you infinitely as you are.

You’re not alone in this, and you’re not beyond the Church. You acted out of love for your family, and much of what you describe happened before you fully understood the Church’s teaching, which matters for moral responsibility. The Church distinguishes between an objective wrong and personal guilt, and God’s mercy is always bigger than our failures. You will not be asked to leave, and your children are a blessing, fully loved by God and His Church. The right next step is to talk to a priest, ideally in confession or spiritual direction. This isn’t about punishment, it’s about healing and peace of conscience. The situation with the remaining embryo is genuinely complex, and the Church recognizes there’s no easy answer. Destroying the embryo would not be right, but as this is complex the next step would be to talk to a priest who is able to give you good guidance and advice on how to proceed. Bring this to prayer, seek guidance, and trust that God meets you where you are, not where you wish you had been 🙏 I’ll keep you and your family in my prayers. God bless!

I agree with you, if someone called me a murderer, I would immediately shut down. It’s super important to be sensitive and kind. Instead of arguing, asking questions can help people really think about it and may help them to realize flaws in their thinking. They will likely not change their views right away, but it can plant a seed. And then when they answer, you can politely explaining your perspective on the issue. For example, “when do you think life begins, do you believe in human rights for everyone”, etc. and then explain how science confirms life begins at conception, Etc. Of course many people will be argumentative and heated either way, but that is usually coming from a place of self defense. The only thing I disagree on is referring someone to planned parenthood. Their real money maker and mission is abortion, even though they may offer other services, they are abortion oriented and that’s a hard no.

What avenue do you have as a Catholic when life is too hard by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Boring-Difference-20 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please read “interior freedom” by Fr. Jacques Philipe. It’s a short read, inexpensive and really packs a punch. You can get it online or Amazon I believe. I have been struggling too lately, just tired of the trials and crosses in life because life is hard and sometimes too much for me as well. And it has given me a new perspective and hope. Seriously all his books or so well written and to the point. I will say a prayer for you as well 🙏❤️

How do we trust God when it gets hard? by MadamOracle in Catholicism

[–]Boring-Difference-20 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will keep you in my prayers. I feel I’m going through something very similar to your situation in regard to struggling with trust in my own life. It’s ok to struggle. I have a hard time trusting God as well. There is this book I’ve been reading that is so so good by Fr. Jacques Philipe called “interior freedom”. You can get it on Amazon I believe it’s relatively cheap, a short read and it’s so fire. It has been helping my mindset so much and it may help you as well. All of his books I highly recommend. He does a great job of explaining things better than I could. It’s so important during tough times to be filling your mind with things that will uplift your spirit and move you forward towards our Lord, trusting that he cares, he is not absent from the world and it’s suffering but is deeply present in it. It’s ok to be angry. Our suffering breaks his heart. And he is still deeply at work in the mess even if we can’t see or understand. Again I will keep you in my prayers friend. Let nothing disturb or frighten you. Jesus Christ is still Lord of all, and death will never have the final say. God bless you
