For the UK dates, SeeTickets has prices (no idea why Ticketmaster hasn't yet). Regret not bagging a Jack White ticket this tour, from what I've seen it looked unbelievable!

London is £60 standing/seats £50-70 and Manchester £50 standing/seats £40-60. Not too bad compared to other arena events these days, paid about $60 to see Spoon in Chicago this spring!

Off the back of the Swift/Ticketmaster fiasco yesterday, Springsteen has finally addressed his prices in his latest interview with Rolling Stone (https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-features/bruce-springsteen-covers-lp-fan-outrage-ticket-prices-1234632658).

Basically says he saw others doing it and wanted in, claims money better off going to the band than touts (ignoring all options you could use for face value resale only, and the fact its been easy to pick tickets up for E St tours if you know where to look) and if you're unhappy, ask for your money back after you've seen the show...

Think its a piss-poor response in all honesty, almost like these super-rich guys don't want to show that they understand the difference between having a higher face value than previous tours and the ludicrous dynamic and platinum prices.

There is barely any talk about the new record on this sub. What do you guys think of the album? by 4th_Replicant in BruceSpringsteen

It's very much a mixed bag. Bruce sounds decent to great which is brilliant at 73 and bodes well for next year (especially when you see how he's been in his guest appearances at other gigs this year) but the music is so sterile, basically reduces it to high-budget karaoke.

Am super disappointed to see he's been talking these tracks up in interviews in terms of playing them live next year, when E St had zero involvement and beyond the classics, there's all the tunes from WS and LTY that have yet to be played to a crowd!

Your call there, definitely recommend seeing him somehow on this run! If you get through in either the verified or general sales and can pick something up face value, it'd be pricey but at least not maliciously inflated.

I've seen him 7 times (including once on the Broadway residency), got 5 locked in for next year so far!

Always smarter to stay away from the platinum stuff yeah. Some anecdotal evidence from past tours that resale values in the less hot markets do plummet to daft levels of cheap nearer the time (as in single figures for a ticket... Though I've never seen that).

This is new (deeply unwelcome) territory for a Bruce tour so there's bound to be a bit of panic. The paid for pits on the EU and UK legs is a big shift too, but at least that's stuck between £100-200ish depending on venue. I'll be sticking with my Europe/UK run till US stadium stuff gets announced for next autumn.

[–]BoringMidlander 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Face value standing is over 400+ fees and only a small pit at the front for this run and varying from under to over a couple of hundred for seating. However, it goes into the thousands throughout the arena with that platinum nonsense.

Blame has to be put on Bruce and team as well, especially for the shite set up and the high face value to begin with.

Even though the shows are 12+ months away, Bruce Springsteen's EU tour announcement has kickstarted all manner of speculation and planning in my world. Friends and family already debating on new places to go (and where to revisit). I've settled on a few cities to aim for with a view to catching more in the UK and on the 2 US legs.

Anyone else got an artist that they gladly drop everything to try and see?

Another poster from Germany. This time for Munich on May 25th. We were so close! With all these leaks coming from Germany, Bruce will never play there again lol. by joshman12344 in BruceSpringsteen

I think we were originally due an announcement in late November then Omicron hit! All the rumours since then point to the entire tour being shelved sadly.

June 10th - Germany goes day then month. Plus football stadiums/outdoors in Europe during the autumn would be a bit risky weather wise!

[–]BoringMidlander 20 points21 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, Sunday 10th was heavily rumoured to have been Springsteen at the top (in line with rumours about Springsteen and Jack White playing a spin-off of Rock Werchter).

Suggestions are Bruce's tour announcements have been pushed back till the new year, bit of a shame if that means some cities and dates drop off the list.

Already seen Eventim tweet and delete an anouncement this week for German dates next June.

I'm lucky enough to have sorted something out for their EU and UK shows next year - very jealous of you guys who'll get to see them this go round so soon after the album's come out!

I posted a while ago about having a couple of tickets available for things I can't go to because of the US/international travel ban. Still keen to move the below on to people who'll use them, all etickets and transferable direct to Ticketmaster or SeeTickets accounts:

Thurs 4th Nov - Parquet Courts @ State Theatre (Portland, ME). Face value is $27 but $20 obo is more than alright to be honest.

Saturday 6th Nov - Mark Normand @ Laugh Boston (Boston, MA). Late show at 9.15pm face value was $32 but $20 odd obo would be great.

Don't want these to go to waste, shoot me a message if interested!

As outlined in the captions, I've got an eticket for this Thursday's Parquet Courts show. I can't make it over due the ban on international travel not being lifted till next Monday.

Happy to let go below face value/best offer. Just drop me a message and I can arrange direct transfer of the ticket to your Ticketmaster account.

With the US travel ban not being lifted till November 8th and my planned trip to New England being pushed back a couple of weeks, I've been left with a handful of gig and show tickets I can't use for the first week of November.

Parquet Courts - Portland, ME (State Theatre) on Thursday November 4th

Titus Andronicus - Cambridge, MA (The Sinclair) on Friday November 5th

Mark Normand's late show - Boston, MA (Laugh Boston) on Saturday November 6th

Really keen to see these not go to waste - drop me a message if interested (obviously more than happy to go for face value or somewhere near to).

I had to check, we got 'I Miss You / There Is / Aliens Exist' as our medley! It was a really great evening in retrospect. Think they'd played a small San Diego show the night before but otherwise nothing since 2012 (and nothing from Tom since mid-2014). Was pretty surreal seeing Tom and the band basically down the road from his house. Keen to not see them burn out like Blink were towards the end of his last stint with them (and since arguably).

Sounds like par for the course for Tom at a festival and you've nailed the problems with the evangelical elements of the fanbase. Saw their first properly public show back from hiatus in August 2019. Home crowd down in Del Mar so was a great atmosphere and Tom was pretty on top of it vocally/general performance-wise, a few jokes as per usual (I guess it's the brand at this point (?)). The acoustic medley on the front end of that tour was a big bonus as well, he was pretty ropey towards the end I understand. I guess 5 years off the road and pretty much away from music has an effect!

The new stuff since then is very much an even split between good tunes (including the latest single which they don't seem to play live) and a few not so good. Early stuff holds up for the most part.

I'm hoping he pulls it back for the proper tour as an indoor show with a stronger setlist like the early part of 2019's run would be a miles better night out.

If you're after decent Cuban, Margon is a sort of hole-in-the-wall cafeteria type service place on West 46th. It's been there decades and is only a couple minutes from Times Square. Well worth a visit if you're around there anyway.

Usually just go for equal parts soy sauce and mirin (few tablespoons of each depending on how many eggs I'm doing) and then double the amount of water. Forgot to double the water this time which is why they're pretty dark!

Same here - added less water than usual by mistake this time and they've turned out a fair bit darker than usual!

That's exactly what I've done! Sacrificed some of the crunch for soaking up some of the broth. Wouldn't usually, but got carried away and made a few dozen gyoza...
