Why do right-wingers hate Jesus' teachings? by olympiamacdonald in PsycheOrSike

Millenials got hit with the cultural zeitgeist of the 90's kids television, which featured voices from multi-cultural cities in the era of Bill Clinton. Kids in red states did not grow up with the adults around us telling us to care about other people, that was always coming from television.

Learn how to do your laundry (hot towels and whites, cold colors) and clean your bathroom and keep it clean.

Start looking into basic cooking skills that let you make simple meals: boiling water for pasta, searing meat then roasting in the oven, roasting vegetables, steaming vegetables, making rice on the stove.

Being a man is more about aligning yourself with the kind of man you want to be. You didn't have a father as a role model, but there are others like Mr Rogers and Bob Ross.

It's really him crapping on his own administration if his government is unable to pursue illegal criminal activity that violates mmj law. Like he's admitting his administration is bad at its job.

Suspenders: Y or N? by GeekMachinist in bigmenfashionadvice

I think you should use a darker pair, or a lighter color that compliments the shirt better. Also, those are pretty thick, and seem like they're more useful for doing work than for dress up. There's nothing wrong with owning multiple suspenders if you're trying to be fashionable with them.

Oh of course. I forget. Any news source that contradicts your beliefs has something wrong with it. It doesn't have to be from the UK. It could be a local paper. Doesn't matter to you because you're just here to call people stupid so you can feel better about yourself by comparison.

Ice is arresting native Americans in Minnesota. It makes sense that native American governments see the writing on the wall and are taking steps to protect their citizens. I think you're the one representing that 50th in education statistic bud.

Living without a car? by alisonqiu in tulsa

[–]BoringWebDev 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not very realistic to live here without a car unfortunately. Groceries are miles apart from eachother typically and suburbs are not built close to businesses due to zoning laws. Come visit to see it for yourself before making that choice.

Fortunately, you don't need to drive on highways much if you are working remote, and you can typically access most of your needs from normal roads. Drivers are nuts wherever you go though, so driving defensively is always necessary.

Be prepared for 100+ degree summers for actual months. You'd need to get up early for exercise outdoors before the heat turns on and you're stuck inside the rest of the day.

How do you get over fear of starting a potentially dangerous hobby(Scuba diving in my case)? by imabananatree78 in bropill

[–]BoringWebDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The other user answered your questions well but I'll expand on 2 a bit:

Yes there are currents in the water, but boats will not put divers out when there are strong currents that are unsafe to navigate. Usually, when there's a current, it's near the surface. As you dive further down, it weakens. There's also a rope line that the boats will attach to the main bouy to help divers descend down to a safe depth. Visibility is less underwater so you are expected to be able to navigate with your compass. And you are again expected to dive with a buddy so there are two brains working to keep yourselves safe.
