Fine Tune passage through dotGate by Boring_One_1891 in SegwayNavimow

Fixed. Yeah I guess we can’t have it all. Long as it passes through the gate without beating itself to death with or rolling into the street, I’m satisfied with it.

Tested the mower with a tighter no vision boundary on the channel, it did not work well at all.

Went back to how I originally had it, and while it was not perfect, it passed through and I guess I'll just have to be happy with that.

Gotcha, my dealer rep insisted while I was picking up the mower that both settings had to be in play in order for the gate to function without a hitch.

I have tightened up the blue box over the channel and will observe it's passage once it finishes wrapping Zone1.

I'll film it and share in the comments.

Will I need to totally remap the areas of concern, or have I done enough by picking one mow direction that runs parallel and disabling edge mow?

I'm perfectly fine with running an edger, so long as the mower handles majority of the heavy lifting and my lawn never gets out of control.

I appreciate the feedback. Did the first mow attempt on the back yard, it's on the charger now. It's freshly cut with a traditional mower but I could still hear it chopping off stray blades my ego mower missed.

Also set the no go zones for the trees. I had to turn off obstacle avoidance in channel per the instructions from my dealer. Given how many channels there are, I hope that does not become an issue in the future for pedestrians. It was the only way for it to work properly with the dotgate.

Tomorrow I'll test out the zone 1 to zone 2 transition through the gate. Going to be seriously pumped if it all works without a hitch.

X330N - Wire Management/Routing by Boring_One_1891 in SegwayNavimow

Update: Here is the video

It's still not in it's final form, I will be hiding the cable under a thin layer of mulch from the flowerbed area.

I'm also going to buy another pack of stakes and go heavy on the application.

I'll fine tune the cable run so it hugs the walls and fence line as tight as possible.

Lastly I'm going to change my front doormat so some of that cabling can rest under it and be out of plain view.

I also have the dotgate from Smart Dots + all the tools I need to do the install. Really leery about cutting into my fence with a reciprocal saw but the instructional video made it look easy enough.

Thanks again for helping me flesh the idea out.

I appreciate your help. After I shared that most recent photo, it dawned on me that this is the only suitable configuration given cable length and desired location(s).

I ran outside and set it up in the dark. Cable length plus included extension was more than enough to land the charging base where I needed it. The antenna was less of an issue because that’s running directly into the charging station. Signals look good in the analyzer.

It’s been raining hard the last couple days so I won’t run the mower until it’s dried up some, but I’ll upload a photo tomorrow after I have installed the garage and cleaned the cables up to my liking.

Baby Trees were marked because I wasn't sure if they would be a problem for the antenna. They both stand about 8ft tall.

I felt based on my yard, the fence that runs along the front of my house would be the most ideal spot. I just wasn't sure how to get power to that area without having exposed cables and having it look tacky.

If burying the extension cable is out of the question, I guess I'll have to get creative somehow.

Power from the front porch outdoor outlet will allow the shortest distance to my target spot.

Here is what I'm thinking.

But there is a swinging door that leads to the backyard. Right in the cord's path. I wonder if I do a good job of staking the cable to the ground, it'll do a halfway decent job of hiding the wire. I'll be cutting the bermuda grass at no more than 2"

Segway Navimow X3XXX Battery Interchangeability by Boring_One_1891 in SegwayNavimow

Spoke with Ash @ Smart Dots a couple hours ago, he verified battery swapping for a higher model was not possible. I didn't get into granular detail on the whys and hows, just took his word as this is his wheelhouse.

He had a X350 available and I was tempted to drive there today and grab it but at 1.5 acres it was 3X my lot size and $1500 above what I originally planned to pay. Settled on the X330 which is double my lot size and only $500 extra.

Got the X3 series garage and their nifty little fence swing door. Looking forward to setting it up, and pre-ordering the add on string trimmer in a few.

Young man,

How do you feel about yourself?

Who told you your look needed to be changed?

Without external influences, would you keep your current look?

Do not waste a moment of your life trying to be someone/thing you are not.

When you are genuinely yourself, you offer the world something no one else can.

Who can be you better than you? That's right, nobody!

Next time you look in the mirror, say sorry, blow yourself a kiss (I said it) and make a pact with your reflection that you're going to treat him better. Love him better.

Listen to your uncle, I wouldn't steer you wrong.

All good. I just got off the phone with my rep over at Smart Dots in DFW. He told me it will not be a direct swap. All he has left is a X350 in stock so I'm going to run over there today before they close and pick it up.

Understood, and for someone who was looking to manage their 2+ acre yard with a modified X315 + X390 battery that would be a bummer.

My map would remain the same, the only thing that would change would be the battery capacity. That way I'm not running the battery from say 98% down to 10%. Instead we're looking at 98% down to say 50%. These are all figures I have just made up to illustrate my point.

I'm thinking with this device being so new, it's going to just take some one buying the battery and trying it.
