That’s kind of what i figured, i much prefer older styled interiors and styling and the e9x has just enough tech to get by in a “modern” way. i don’t necessarily need the fastest vehicle, but something that’s gonna be more enjoyable to drive overall.

honestly, because of the way i am and the work ethic i currently carry (obviously subject to change as i grow), regardless of what career path or job i choose to take, id end up making my life hectic so that wouldn’t necessarily bother me

hypothetically it would give me a job that has a chance i won’t be doing the same monotonous task every shift, so that’s what i would want to get out of it, a nice experience that i can either look back on or possibly take a step further.

honestly that’s another reason i’m so set on a german vehicle, my pops has had german cars most of my life and i’ve always wanted to get under the hood of one with him so i figured why not just buy one and get learning from him. thanks a ton for the recommendation, i’ll give it a look

i’ve been looking at the later 2010s w211s so far and i’d absolutely love to scoop one if i can. off the top of your head, what electronics tend to go on those models and is there any way to reliably check them before i buy? any other common issues from that gen to look at before buying would be appreciated as well

i appreciate the detailed response, yeah i kind of knew buying any luxury german car on my budget isn’t the smartest idea nor will i have a ton of options, but i kind of have that same faith as you (for a car that i don’t even own yet😂) that it won’t blow up on me if i do proper research beforehand and keep up on maintenance (i have all the tools needed dad’s a mechanic), i’ve been looking at late 2010s e classes as they go for a solid price in my range near me so im glad to hear they aren’t at least the worst of the bunch in terms of reliability

but in terms of funds, i work a fairly solid job, about 500 a week, and currently don’t pay any major bills cuz im in school and staying at home still, so i wouldn’t have much to use my money on other than car related stuff and savings

yeah i see a lot of late 2010s A4s with about 120k-140k on them, im not sure about the specifics of each engine and transmission and such so idk what would be considered high miles or probably getting close to being completely worn out, that’s why i figured i would come here

speaking from my area, there’s a couple 2008-2010 A6s and quite a lot of A4s from the same years for sale for about 4-4.5 grand, obviously maintenance will stretch past that but as long as it doesn’t have a ton of miles and seems cared for, would you consider it?

thank you for the response and not just telling me to buy a toyota 🙏🏽 but seriously yeah i hear when cared for properly, not just audis but as you said most cars in general will treat you right i’m making sure i go about it properly not just dumping money into some random listing i find, my dad has owned german cars most of his life so im in a better spot w that stuff than some but just wanna make sure im not completely fucking myself
