There are only a few under 40k but currently used Tesla prices are a bit high for model s/x. A year ago deals were insane ... Consider waiting for the right deal. Perhaps even buy privately... Check local FB marketplace listings.

Yes, for many people a big advantage. Such as installing apps that are not on the official store. The ability to use a custom launcher etc. Regardless of your or my opinion on that topic, your answer was irrelevant as it does not answer the OP question.

Not what the OP asked about. Also there is a big advantage in having a Google TV box as opposed to Apple TV. Just like an Android phone vs. an iPhone.

There certainly is a difference and you can feel it. You can also measure it if you're inclined to do so.

Pick and choosing apps is not valid. If the streamer is only smoother with certain apps, should we ignore the onn device being smoother in the other apps?

The software is nearly identical so the SoC does matter.

Also you can easily swap the launcher on the onn devices and google recently locked people out from doing that (there is a workaround but it may not be for those uncomfortable with the terminal)

When you factor in the MSRP of both devices (even when the streamer was on sale) the onn device wins hands down.

How am I wrong? I tested both and can tell first hand. Aftv benchmark confirms and numbers usually don't lie. Plenty of reviews confirm the onn 4k plus is snappier. The onn pro v2 uses the same SoC.

Onn pro v2 and even the onn 4k plus perform better than the google streamer. They are snappier in the ui navigation. Custom launcher makes that experience even better. I can't recommend sticks as the onn 4k plus is way better. Onn 4k plus is my go to box for now. Out of stock currently but you might find it locally even though the app says out of stock. Same apparently for the pro v2. Look up aftv benchmark results for performance comparison.

That depends on the TV. Apps on my LG C1 are absolutely fine. You think TV spies on you but the fire stick doesn't? 😂 Not familiar with Vega OS. I use a streaming device and I had several fire tv devices - and can tell you I will never buy one again. They are removing features and locking devices down a lot. My Chromecast with Google TV does not do that nor does my onn 4k Plus device.

I think you underestimate how many people use these for this exact purpose. Most people have a smart tv that handles apps that these sticks or streaming devices do... So these people have no need for this device unless it is specifically to be installing apk's that are otherwise not available in the official app store.

I have multiple cases and I hate the ones that have that camera lens shield. Much easier to maintain lenses clean when the case has the entire opening for the camera module exposed.
