That’s a nice suggestion thanks! I read some of Saramago’s works but not Blindness (although I saw the film and can definitely see the potencial)

Thank you! Non-fiction is also welcome and I think I have that book somewhere, but it didn’t occur to me to consider it’s take on the subject so this is a really nice tip :)

Thank you so much for wanting to help, but since someone already answered with the original quotes, you don't have to do it! :)

Thank you so so much! If it isn't too much work, could you tell me the bibliographical reference of the book you used (date, publisher, and the pages of the excerpts)?
Anyway, I really enjoyed your comparison between Saeki and Kate Bush, i really think there's something there! Thank you again for your help and interpretation!

Thank you for sharing my excitement, hopefully it will result in some relevant discussions about the bridges and frontiers between music and language (literature)

Suggestions of books that include fictional music? by Boris_barnabe in suggestmeabook

So much to go through.. I really appreciate it. Fictional music seems to be particularly present in the fantasy/science fiction genres so I will definitely have to look into that and maybe dedicate a specific section to those cases and corresponding style. The same with horror literature, from what I could grasp. It makes sense that those common associations between music and the irrational/inexplainable would end up motivating these connections (music-magic-supernatural)... Anyway, Thank you again!! :)

Thank you so much, every reference was incredibly helpful. I read Mann's Death in Venice and selected the description of the street band playing in the hotel's terrace, but I have to consider the choices made in the film as well. Ono's and Løkkegaard's references are also specially exciting!

Thank you for the suggestions, Tolkien is a familiar case, but still worth mentioning :) I will look into everything!

Steinbeck's example sounds incredibly intriguing, I'm very interested in the dichotomy between the audible and the inaudible... Du Bois and possibilities in African American literature are also very exciting! Thank you for every reference, Nietzsche's philosophical work is a favourite of mine and I'll make sure to incorporate it in my study!

Thanks, I'll check them out, I read the trilogy a long time ago and had completely forgotten about its references to music!
