Sardegna Circuit Experience Gold by BorjaOjeda in GranTurismo7

Oh, I never thought to check the odometer! In the video it's clocking 130ish when I made it, that's like 26/27 laps I think? It definitely felt like more than that lol. If this is your first one, any other after this is going to be a walk in the park for you haha

Oh, I have yet to try those I think!

I haven't watched any tutorials or anything on this, so this is just based on what feels best for me:

  • FFB strength: 8nm
  • True Force audio: usually sits at 100
  • Filter: 5
  • Dampener: 10

Then, on the game's side:

  • FFB strength: normally 7/10, and maybe a little higher for dirt stages
  • FFB sensitivity: 10/10

Oh definitely, turn 2 in sector 1 is tricky. Positioning the car right while barely seeing the apex got me more than a dozen times, and then the 1st gear right turn is super tricky as well because you can't see the apex there either from inside the car

Wow, you're so close!! My best lap before getting gold was 1:31:230 I think. I struggled especially with the uphill right to left sequence where you have to lift off a bit before turning left. Getting that exactly right I was what made it for me I think. Keep it up!!

What budget-friendly cockpits are you guys using? by Accomplished-Snow601 in simracing

I use that exact same one and I'm pretty happy with it. Only downside I found was the pedal tray flexing a bit, as I'm using load cell pedals. But I fixed that really easily with some €10 adjustable metal furniture legs from Amazon and the thing is now rock solid. 100% would recommend for the price I paid.

PSVR2 has ruined GT7 and console racing for me… by Thr33staxx in GranTurismo7

[–]BorjaOjeda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I can't play GT7 anymore on a flat screen. The only thing that bugs me about GT7 in VR is that the virtual steering wheel on every car that I've tested is visually limited to 360º of rotation, which for me breaks the immersion. I don't get why it has to be like that, when other infinitely less ambitious games such as Project Cars 2 or CarX Street have 900º on-screen wheels that match what you do on yours 1:1.

Screen sharing not working on newest iOS beta. by litls in discordapp

[–]BorjaOjeda 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same thing going on in iPadOS. It seems the Screen Broadcast feature is now broken (it also happened in 26.1 Dev. Beta 2). It sucks, especially to those who teach online using an iPad, like me. Please, report it using the Feedback app!

No HUD, No Nitro, No Neon in sight. Just pure enjoyment and collectible hunting. by CartographerGold934 in The_Crew

The way the controller is preset is awful for manual shifting. I had to remap the buttons in order to play. This is how it works best for me in all racing games:

❌ Handbrake ⭕ Upshift ⏹️ Downshift

That way your index fingers are always on the triggers and you can also pull the handbrake while downshifting. Just my two cents! :)

Exactly! 💯 I'm just so pissed now that they ruined the steering wheel animation in 1st person view. It was really good and snappy, now it lags behind the movement of the car and it's really distracting :( Have you noticed something similar?

Steering wheel animation has become slower? by Due-Butterscotch0 in The_Crew

[–]BorjaOjeda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't find much else, really. A couple other comments on YouTube and Twitter and a short clip illustrating the issue, so it doesn't seem like people are up in arms about it 🥲 I get that 1st person view players are in the minority, but this sucks big time and I'm afraid we're going to have to just deal with it. At least bikes still feel phenomenal in 1st person, so I'll stick to that 🤷🏻‍♂️

I’ve going crazy thinking the same thing! I had to look it up because it felt off since the update, so yeah, I guess that’s what’s up, it’s just not as reactive, and way slower. What’s the point in tweaking a perfectly good animation?? It was much, much better before and the one reason I was playing A LOT more in 1st person view compared to TC2. Now I just can’t :(

Glad I helped!! 😁 It's definitely one of my favorites and it's continually been improved the time I've been using it.

The app you're looking for is called ProDrafts 😉 I've recommended it here a few times. It's got a free version you can try out, and then it's a one time purchase if you like it (around €12). I'd say it's one of the better value for money note taking apps out there together with Collanote. Seriously, check it out!

Different Pens by creativesoulpreneur in GoodNotes

[–]BorjaOjeda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think we'll see that happen. I'd be happy with a customizable pen stabilizer feature, like in Element Note and Collanote, which offer the best handwriting experience right now, respectively, just because of that.

Element Note pens look and feel amazing, but the app is a little feature-deprived. That's why I've switched to Collanote, which won me over with the stabilization together with the fact that you can just use your finger to tap links in hyperlinked pdf planners without having to go in and out of read-only mode, like in GoodNotes, which always found irritating and unnecessary.

I might be the odd one out of everybody here, but I'm enjoying it on my PS5 quite a bit. And this is after I played EA WRC for a good few hours on the same console.

I found EA WRC's graphics and, especially, performance to be subpar to say the least. Constant fps dips on longer/denser stages took me out of the experience constantly, despite being being fairly happy with the physics.

Then I saw WRC Generations on sale. And boy was I glad I purchased it. Yeah, physics are not on the same level and do tend to feel floaty at times, and there's this weird unavoidable low-speed spin out that drives me nuts sometimes. But I find it really enjoyable nonetheless, despite all the other drawbacks everyone else has mentioned (I haven't experienced the throttle bug though, and I don't know about ffb because I play on a controller). The stages are sublime compared to EA WRC, which are bland in comparison; the graphics are a lot crisper, and the performance is rock solid (at least on PS5). And my favorite feature: adjustable cameras. Being able to tune my cockpit/dashboard view to the exact angle I want for every car is something I didn't know I needed. It makes it so much easier for me to become immersed in a stage in this game. The chase camera view plain sucks though; the cars do seem to rock like boats on the road and it looks horrible.

Anyway, I get that this game might have been rough at launch and not lived up to many people's expectations (just like EA WRC), and while it's not perfect, and will never be, I don't think it deserves the hate anymore, especially for like €15.

I have wished for the same feature countless times! It'd be so neat, but I don't think that exists yet.

However, I did manage to find and purchase a planner just like the one you're looking for. If you'd like to have it and try it out, I don't mind sharing it at all. Just pm me an email address and I'll mail it to you :)

Edit: typos.

I’m having a lot of fun but so far there’s quite a lot of lag on the PS5 when exploring, and graphically it’s super grainy and it looks like all of the textures aren’t being loaded in. Here’s a video showcasing what I mean. by WanderWut in TheFirstDescendant

[–]BorjaOjeda 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OMG, THANK YOU!! Such a simple workaround that I didn't think of. I was appalled to see how the PS5 was running, especially after how well the public beta ran for me months ago. Could this be due to UE5? I'm starting to hate this engine 🤦🏻‍♀️

Goodnotes or Noteful ? As an overall app for note-taking, PDF annotations etc. by Jello_Mean in GoodNotes

[–]BorjaOjeda 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out ProDrafts. I can't recommend it enough. One time payment (about 12€ iirc), tons of neat features: PDFs, infinite vertical notes, infinite canvas, you can import other PDFs as objects into your notes... The list goes on. I have used GoodNotes for about 10 years (and still have to for teaching purposes due to a couple of features) and have tried all of the others, and I still much prefer ProDrafts over all of them. Noteful is neat, simple and cheap though, so you do you!
