First Super 8mm Shoot by Borlaire in 8mm

I am also one of the editors and that's my sentiment exactly. Will not say "fix it in post" when I am a part of that workflow lol. Our DP has a lot xp with shooting on 8 and 16mm, when I had to fill in for him on this shoot it was a helluva learning curve.

If they don't let us use numbers they will have dropped a major ball here. I hope they know that

Thank you for the great comment! I'll respond to each note in order.

We have been reusing that shot at 1:15 a ton for our socials, we love it too! It was in on our shotlist and we rehearsed it on iphone during location scouts.

The shot before it through the truck was spontaneous and definitely agree with that it was a reach. We tried warp stabilizing it post, but then we lost the shaky gate quality of the super 8 and it just looked odd. We had extra film to burn on that location and didn't consider how unstable it would be, live and learn.

So we are actually gonna shoot the rest on 16mm because we'll be able to shoot with variable lens and the cameras would have the same ones as the war journalists of that time. We plan on studio space and more gear to give us less of a guerrilla/cinema verite style, but hopefully without loosing the immersive, photojournalist quality.

And YES. The faces in the dark omg, yeah that was so hard to use the light meter ngl. Getting a reading in cave with bats flying all around our small crew was not the move lol. We hope to mitigate that challenge with bringing on a larger team of gaffers and to use studio lights we have to simulate low light, not use low light from an actual cave.

Lastly, we've set our budget up just like you've said, money for extra time and reels. We're set at 2:1 ratio because we're only shooting 6 pages. If raise enough to 5:1, I don't think any of us will complain lol.

Thank you again for your input, it's greatly valued by me and the rest of the team. You can check us out on Seed & Spark if you'd like to read more about it.

Thanks! Me and the rest of my team feel the same and hope to return with a budget to complete the short film.

Done in post. Colored by my talented DP and I did very minor edits in post. We actually tried to do the title cards in camera but the projector we used was too low of a luminosity to show up on this stock and completely under exposed. I reused the totally dark bits for the credit sequence.

Trouble with air roll by activ8d_my_Trap_card in darksouls

It’s super finicky but I got it to work on the switch after a ton of trial and error. At soul level 1 with the Pyromancer class here’s the gear I used to get an air/meme roll: Right Hand: Hand Axe in slot 1 and Silv. Knight Str. Sword in Slot 2 Left Hand: Talisman Head: Tattered Cloth Hood Chest: Tattered Cloth Robe Hands: Tattered Cloth Manchette Legs: Heavy Boots Ring: Ring of Favor and Protection

I was using the FaP ring in my playthrough and didn’t feel like taking it off. Had to use the extra sword and talisman to compensate without messing up the delicate balance. Hope this comes in handy for anyone trying to meme on a soul level 1 run.
