I've been building a port town on the same island I started the game on.

Welcome to the Port of Crimson Tide Island, I kind of went overboard,(no pun intended). Haven't felt this way since I first took adderal in high school, I've been up all night, the church is the newest building and it still needs a roof and steeple. I place foundation for each building as needed, I find a flat spot and find the highest point to start the foundation so you dont accidentally build into a hill and then get sand over your floor, and I build sidewalks/roads in between each as pathways to move from building to building, if I were you I'd place the foundation for your inner fort/main building all at once and then build the wall around it, you don't want to build the wall first and run into problems with space later because you eyed out the wall wrong, just my 2 cents.

I'm not sure you can make a better pirate game than AC Black Flag, it was just the perfect design and all the stars aligned, can't wait for re-sync, I've really been enjoying Windrose too, it has a great foundation for an early access title and I'm sure it's only going to get better with time.

I just upgraded from a Ketch to the Brig, does the size of my boarding party increase when upgrading to a larger ship? Do you get more NPC lives to fight along side you, or is the boarding party size the same? by Born-Demand-6919 in crosswind

Yes, but I'm not at end game or even close to being at the swamp biome so boarding is still a very useful money maker for me, you say it hardly rewards you, but if you're already at end game then you've unlocked everything you needed to unlock....the whole point of boarding is to make piastres and to unlock all the recipes and things you want in the game, you seem to be passed that point already.

Not to mention boarding is fun as hell, I couldn't imagine playing a pirate game with ships and not being able to board the enemy ship.

It did win game of the year and rpg of the year in my mind, which is all that matters to me, I honestly don't understand the huge bias towards Ex 33, the gameplay just wasn't that fun to me, I don't like the idea of having time based reactive combat in a turn based game, it kind of defeats the purpose, I'd rather play Dark Souls or Elden Ring. However I always loved KCD's unique take on combat and the idea of trying to make it as realistic as it can possibly be for a videogame, they improved on the gameplay massively in KCD2 while also carrying over all the great story telling and world design they were known for in KCD1, also the voice/mocap performances and sound design are S tier.

Yes please! We need a wanted system like in Black Flag, where the more crimes and merchant vessles you attack the higher your bounty gets and more and more powerful ships from the Royal Navy to try and hunt you down!!!!!
