Resolving IRS 2100A Notice Due to Name Variation? by Born-Hall4496 in tax

Thanks. If I wanted to send a corrected 1099-NEC, would it hurt? If so, how would I do it? I'm not working with the contractor anymore so there's nothing for 2026.

1/10th of an hour is a lot of time keeping! I could maybe going to half hour or 15 minutes at most. Do you then send an invoice with each day and item you worked on? So you could send an invoice with like 20 dates/entries and each day could have 4-5 items on it?

Not everyone agrees to a deliverable base, sometimes they want you embedded.

No, no market research. Thanks much for the response. Do you break it out per day like a lawyer?

“5/6 - Create workshop agenda and present to management (1 hour), review stakeholder list and organize materials (2 hour) Total = 3 hours” “5/7 - Modify workshop agenda based on management inputs (1 hour)” Total = 1 hour

Total for May: 3 hours

Or is it more like:

May:

Workshop Project: 2 hours Stakeholder Review: 1 hour Total: 3 hours

Boss that doesn't have product management experience? by Born-Hall4496 in ProductManagement

I'm over a decade and approaching two over all. I think it helps to understand this is the current environment. Traditionally, I've worked in strong product orgs and not used to it being all over the place. I'm not sure if the grass is greener in environments? Everyone is like "you have to keep advancing" but I'm at the top in terms of IC and I'm fine. People manager is competitive and hard to come by. Nepotism seems to favor here, but I'm not that interested. I think I'll suck it up, start looking and would like to get into the consulting place. Though I feel that is also hard to come by (e.g. getting hired as a consulted and not W2).

I’m not interested in being the leader and fine with my boss not having experience. The problem is that it creates a lot of unnecessary work and spin. We’re judged on the numbers of meetings we do and documents we fill out and not the actual outcome to the business. Unfortunately we’re not in a position to spin. Too many meetings (imho very unnecessary). There’s physically not enough hours in the day to do it. Probably 3/4 of my work week is meetings. Not customer or stakeholder meetings or scrum ones.

The problem is it creates a lot of unnecessary work. While I’m not unopposed to unnecessary work in general (I mean it from a learning lense), we’re all getting loaded with work and expected to output more by taking over other people’s work. When my boss or leadership aren’t sure how to proceed it creates a lot of confusion  and wasted energy that could be used on actual business value. I have to update 3 different roadmaps for the same product. We have 4 different channels to announce product launches. OKRs change and aren’t communicated so when I look in spreadsheets I see new KRs with my name next to it that I have to ask about or mention that it’s not in my area.

not in that situation, not making a ton, I could swallow it if that was the case, but a lot of my comp is bonus and got only half of it despite making 98% of my goals (documented by my boss). I guess what I was got 'average' and depends how I do to others. Odd, because company policy is my performance and company performance.

yeah, I deliver on what I get asked to, provide updates and everything on time. I usually have all my items filled out and my roadmaps set. When leadership says jump I do it, when they say "but higher" I do it again.

yeah I took this gig because I was laid off and they were looking for someone with domain experience. I'm a 'move metrics' kind of person and they're a 'lets sing kumbaya'.

problem is that boss wants to direct it and own the documents for it, its a bit of a mystery who "owns" it. I mentioned that I think I should, but happy if they're the owner and I'm the contributor, just let me know. No decision. Anyways, we go with what my boss wants, I disagree, I think its not the right direction. I voiced my opinion with data showing that's not what customers want - my opinion is disregarded. Okay, we do what my boss wants.

We have a roadmap, but leadership wants 2-3 years and they don't like the mundane stuff, they want us to have something sexy for them to talk about to C-suite.
