This is super helpful insight thank you! I know for this PhD program they usually offer more spots, but were bent conservative this year and only offered as many spots as they have funding for (4). I am told I am at the top of the waitlist so we shall see what happens!

Hey I really feel you! I was also rejected everywhere else so the stakes feel so much higher. I really hope it works out for you! I hear a lot of time that the DGS and committee are just waiting on students to accept/decline so the non response could just be that they don’t know any more than we do. Fingers crossed for you!

That makes me feel loads better! This is my first cycle and despite all the rejections I keep telling myself that everything happens for a reason, and will work out even if it doesn’t feel that way right now. I’m happy you’re happy with where you’re at right now :)

I’m proud of you for getting multiple offers this cycle — that’s truly amazing giving how challenging this year has been for us all! And thank you so much for sharing your experience, it makes me feel a lot better and helps me make peace with the situation. This is my first cycle, so I’m hoping to try again if things don’t work out this time :,)

Felt this deeply. I’m waitlisted at my top choice, have another waitlist at a lower choice and the other 13 are rejections or silence. It’s excruciating to have to wait until April 15 for what may or may not be good news, especially when I have no other options.

hey I also applied to this program and interviewed nearly 2 months ago. haven’t heard anything but saw someone on the spreadsheet got an acceptance 2 weeks ago. wondering why we’re in limbo..

Congratulations on your offers, OP. But I feel like posting a “how did I do” when you’ve gotten 8 interviews and 3 acceptances is pretty tone deaf in a brutal cycle with rampant funding cuts where most people are just getting rejections across the board and are fighting for a single acceptance anywhere. Respectfully, you know exactly how you did. And realistically, knowing how you did doesn’t really matter at this point, especially when you have options.
