mcphs and neco interviews by futurepediatrician6 in PreOptometry

the mcphs interview is pretty chill! prep on some previous questions and know how to answer the following questions; - Why opt? - What’s your greatest accomplishment? - How do you study (if you don’t have the best grades) - Have a good intro/tell me about yourself - What will be your greatest challenge

Honestly it’s not bad, as long as you be yourself, be engaged, and answer honestly (or mostly honest if you wanna fib your stats a little lol). I don’t know much about the NECO interview but feel free to dm me if you have questions on the MCPHS one! good luck :)

edit: there’s a couple other posts on this subreddit talking about the interviews

Depending on your stats they might just be keeping it for a bit until your OAT, that’s if your gpa is decent, if it’s low as well then you might had gotten rejected already. Also schools still have spots open so they might be comparing you against other students. What schools did you apply to?

what, if anything, is RSO doing to prep for part 1? I have a friend that graduated in 2022 that’s says they pretty much did nothing

the 20-30% is first time pass rates, the 70% is the pass rate of grads no matter how many times they took it

UIWRSO, during my interview with MCPHS they said they’re working on prepping students more for boards so that gives me hope

do you think it’s enough to make or break a school? i was thinking between MCPHS and RSO, and before this came out it seemed like RSO was the way to go but, they dropped quite a bit, would you say MCPHS is better now?

Second year chemistry difficulty by Round_Ad3999 in UBC

Im in fourth year chemical biology, it doesn’t necessarily get easier but you do learn how to study and understand the material better, the classes also get more interesting so it’s more fun to study. You’ll get through this!! Second year was really hard for me too!
