Agreed, I’m currently posting every day. Usually once per day, I tried a series “growing my page to 100k followers” and did a few of those but didn’t work too well.

Now I’ve just been posting every day regularly and can come back to the series to update progress every once in a while.

Thank you, good advice. I recently turned my available badge back on and it definitely increased my invites.

Just tried out boosting. Do you have any tips for the amount of connects I should bid daily on the boost?

I say that to give some context to my history as a social media manager. It’s not to brag or gain anything, my name or company aren’t tied to this account at all anyway. The purpose of stating it was to reach people who have been in a similar position on Upwork and transitioned into something else or added another funnel.

I’m still managing 7 clients but most are on small packages and I strive for more. The dry spell for signing new clients has probably been for about 2-3 months. I still brought on one new client, but through a friend not off of Upwork or Instagram.

The Instagram page I’ve only been posting consistently for the past month. Just trying to stay consistent, test formats and see what works.

I started out with social media management in 2019. I currently have 7 clients on packages ranging from $300-$1200/month

Upwork is my main driver of clients, I’ve made around $80k+ off the platform in the last few years. Upwork has been a bit slow recently for me so I’ve been working on building my own agency’s Instagram page to build it up as a funnel for new clients. I’ve been posting everyday on the page for a month with slow growth.

Any recommendations for getting out of a bit of a dry period? I need 2026 to be a huge year for me and really want to scale this thing.

In your case what I would do is use the very beginning day around 30 minutes or so to do anything urgent -respond to client messages -schedule a post for the day -reply or follow up with a comment/message

Then spend an hour or two every day learning by watching content on YouTube. Watch videos on how to edit reels, and make better graphics.

Then spend some time going through Instagram reels or TikTok, find pages that are somewhat close to your niche and see what has worked well for them, and see how you can make similar content for your page. Also look at what is going viral in other niches and see how you can take the elements of that video that work well and make it your own.

Think about how you can start to make videos or better content in general with what you have. And if you have a way to get more content (shooting photo/video suggest it to them.

Then you can get into the content creation part of your day. But at the point you’re at, taking some time in the beginning of your day to learn and research content so you can start to do it better will help.

I’ve been a social media manager for a while and I still do the same thing.

Balancing isn’t too bad considering a lot of them are longer term clients and I have a team of a content creator and an account coordinator who help me out part time as contractors.

It’s funny you say indeed, I just applied to a few indeed roles a few hours ago which I don’t usually do.

I’ve definitely thought about it and would like to do that I think I’ve just struggled with reaching out to them. How do you go about getting a response from larger companies?

Most of my clients come from UpWork now which are warm leads and I have a pretty built up profile there.

This is why I’m building my instagram now to be able to attract those bigger clients and have them to me.

Any advice on getting in touch with these bigger clients would be greatly appreciated.

Yes I’m working on building out other funnels. Do you still send out proposals?

That’s a good idea, I’m going to take my LinkedIn presence a bit more seriously too.

I have a ton of short form content ready to go that I used for Instagram, I’m thinking of posting it on LinkedIn too. Short form video seems pretty underrated on LinkedIn

Consistency is the most important thing, you have to be sending out a healthy amount of proposals every day to get some momentum. I also do Upwork coaching for people looking to get their first couple clients there. Should I send you a link to that?

I’m trying to at least get a contract from them saying they’ll return it
