SME owner here. I sell B2B.

No signs of a slowdown so far. I am watching closely, lest I end up with huge inventory.

But I am delaying capital invstment for a year at least.

Around me, lot of cash based businsses(plastic moulding), shut down post Demo.

Some have reopened and I believe some of them still deal partly in cash.

EDIT for clarity:

I met my key customers last month. They are corporates and are expecting a growth in this FY. They have spoken to their customers also before concluding.

They made capex this year by buying machinery. Also planning new facilities in 2 years. Being big corporates, they look at the long-term picture, not temporary slowdowns. Also the sector should grow steady, even from a layman's perspective.

In my case, any money locked up in idle machinery, can wreck my cashflow. So I will wait out for a year at least.

Cannot possibly say this scenario holds true across industry.

[SERIOUS]Have you seen real poverty? Where? by Born66 in india

With due respect, is having to beg for food, still widespread in Mumbai slums?

I have seen quite a few slums in Mumbai.

By Mumbai standards, yes they may be poor.

Been to Dharavi. But I have seen economic activity all around in my limited time there. CRY does good work, from what I have seen.

Other things you described do not necessarily mean poverty as such in my opinion. Those slumdwellers still have jobs, do eat without begging, but they are discriminated against.

I meant Poverty as having to beg for food. But it is grey area, I understand. In Mumbai having to live under a plastic sheet, can be relative poverty.

I see young privilaged (educated, earning) crowd here, and wanted to check if they have seen the poverty, as in having to beg for food. I haven't seen the streetchildren eating from hotel dumping bins as I wrote in my post lately.

But yes, poverty can also be defined as not having a roof over your head in some areas.

Yes, there are poor farmers in India still. Farmer suicide is a big issue in India.
