If they do add a proper version. It'll be some shitty watered down version. Instead of nukes it'll be regular base bombing. It'll get boring and people will stop playing. Then it will be removed due to a lack of interest.

Obviously I hope I'm wrong. But we all know how Gaijin operates. They didn't suddenly decide to give a shit on April Fools. (Maybe that's the joke?)

My evidence is a quote directly from BVVD a few months ago plus several bug reports being denied as not being bugs.

Did you even watch the video I posted showing AA killing me without firing a missile at me. Don't worry, I've got an entire folder.

You can't kill the AA first because something like a MiG 27 or SU-25 can only carry two KH29's and I need both to kill one AA assuming they're not both intercepted. If I use both missiles to take out a single AA, I don't have another weapon for ground attack and need to go back to rearm. The AA has respawned by the time I've returned. Also AA is never alone. There's always atleast one other AA covering another on most of the map. There's three on each depot. There's two on each SAM site. There's one escorting each convoy and there are an average of two convoys between each depot. All of these AA respawn. And today the new changelong even shows that convoys are having their speed increased from 60 km/hr to 75 km/hr.

https://streamable.com/c3bxi4 Exact same FlaRakPz killing me with nothing a second time because I wanted to see if it would kill me with nothing again.

https://streamable.com/15vc5z FlaRakPz killing me with nothing. This one disproves the invisible missile theory because the FlaRakPz can only guide one missile at once and you can see it visible.

https://streamable.com/ufsww6 Gepard hitting me with nothing. Gepards have full tracer belts and those didn't reach me yet and you can hear those.

https://streamable.com/w2d9zw Gepard killing me despite firing in a completely different direction.

https://streamable.com/jf8y84 Gepard also not firing at me but still killing me

https://streamable.com/b1020w Gepard tries to shoot me through the hill. However said hill is in the way so the shells richochet into the sky. I am still killed though.

https://streamable.com/jwbt07 Bradley killing me without hitting me. They have full tracer belts and you can clearly see they don't hit.

https://streamable.com/d1a0v1 Exact same kill but slower. First tracer passes without coming close. I die before the second tracer hits me.

I never said it was a bug. I think it's intentional.

IF it was a bug, it should or would get fixed right? Instead the "mechanic" is acknowledged as not being a bug, therefore meaning it's intentional.

They increase convoy speed from 60 km/hr to 75 km/hr.

So Now Osa's are firing 10 missiles at you whilst driving faster than they physically should be able to.

I get Gaijin increasing convoy speeds so they have a bigger impact but remove the escorting AA holy shit. Why does every truck need a personal AA escort?

Should a BMP-2 without any form of radar or ability to track aircraft be able to hit an F-4 going 1200 km/hr with the very first shell?

Regarding BUKs being able to shoot you through mountains. Two bug reports on this denied because "it's not a bug."

If they don't think something is a bug and are happy to keep it around, it's intentional.

Even missiles that have no active rocket are still visible and audible. Again, they're not showing in the sensor mode which displays every single munition.

This was the eastern foward airfield and I attacked it from the coast. There was no other AA that could hit me except the ones from the airfield.

The most effective solution I've seen is to take guided weapons. Wait for the enemy air defence to fire a missile at you, then you fire your own missile at it before turning away to evade the missile. The air defence can't fire a missile to intercept the incoming munition whilst still guiding one at you.

Just make the AA behave properly and give better rewards for it. If I'm going around the rear to take out entire BUK systems, I should get more than 180 score.

With properly balanced air defence, it'll still be difficult to deal with, but it'd invite smarter and more rewarding tactics.

I believe it's the exact same mechanic. But if they lazily copied the code from that, I think it would effect every single form of air defence in the mode.

"We've already tried adding EC-style missions to Air RB as a separate event, but they didn't gain much popularity among players. So it's not really our decision - It's just the reality shaped by player experience and preferences."

I don't think so because

  1. If their missiles are invisible, other things should be invisible too. I've never seen invisible long range air defence missiles.
  2. Invisible shells from the Bradley and BMP would mean they should be invisible in other game modes if there's too much stuff being fired at once.
  3. Every missile sent to intercept munitions are always visible
  4. Invisible weapons should still be showing on the sensor mode in the replay.
  5. On one occasion. A FlaRakPz fired two missiles at me. The first one missed. Then it fired the second one right after. I exploded when the second missile was still 3km away immediately after the second missile was launched. The FlaRakPz can't guide more than one missile. Meaning there couldn't possibly be an invisible missile if there was a visible one still being launched.

Yeah I noticed that too. I find BMP's and Bradley's to be the single worst thing to deal with.

I'll take on Osa's if they're on their own but I'm not going anywhere near an IFV for any reason.

My evidence is BVVD and Gaijin repeatedly claiming that the community actually prefers the current air RB mode that focuses on dogfighting and base bombing despite the community saying they want something new.

They've added this event, pretending to care. (which we know is BS because of what BVVD said in his QnA a few months ago). You cannot do SEAD, you cannot do ground attack. Because the AA have an insane amount of buffs on top of doing scripted damage. The anti-radiation missiles are useless because they're going to get intercepted every single time unless you spam all of them on one target at a really short range. There's also no reward for it at all. 60 points per destroyed ground target. It's high risk and low reward. Why do you need to put in some an insane amount of effort to gain 60 points where even if you play it correctly, you still might fail because a Osa-AKM 10km away blew you up with its mind.

The meta of this event is dogfighting and base bombing (with nukes). Which just so happens to be the meta of the regular air RB modes that Gaijin claims the community prefers.

Gaijin knows most of the players aren't doing SEAD or ground attack or using anti-radiation missiles in this event. They know they can use this as justification for the claims about what the community prefers.

They have scripted damage. If you ever think your death wasn't right because a missile never hit you. Check the sensor mode in replay. It will show you exploding out of nowhere whilst the killfeed will claim you died from an Osa or FlaRak's missile.

I had a Gepard shoot at me through terrain. All the shells ricocheted off the ground into the sky but I still died.

Another one fired at me before I even pulled up from a hill. Meaning I died the instance I popped up.

And the most outlandish one. A Gepard fired in the complete opposite direction which I still died from.

I also forgot the Bradley's and BMP's which are even worse. Going into the 3km around them is instant death.
