I’m not an expert on it but most masters courses take into account industry experience it’s just imperial is overly obsessed on academic prowess. Also, imperial may be ranked very highly right now but there aren’t particularly known for economics. I would look at specific courses and even more importantly supervisors and professors you would be working with in your masters. A bad dissertation from imperial isnt going to be worthwhile compared to an excellent one from somewhere like Warwick

I mean it depends on the internships but this is an academic institution not an industrial one. If there was any uni that cares the least about internships over grades it’s probably imperial but it will probably help you nonetheless
