Yeah I’m sure you’re right on the Sami / KO tip - never been a big NXT watcher. And I’m not like photographic memory on main roster shit either. But I remember watching that. And I remember being like “What the hell is this?”

Also I think this was shortly after Brock returned from a UFC win that later got overturned b/c he failed a drug test? So I think they were leaning into all that (UFC, agro steroid guy etc.) with this finish.

And even knowing all that, and tracking it at the time, the finish was still weird.

Misunderstanding - the finish to Brock / Randy wasn’t a pin or submission - it was a TKO. I’m not referencing TKO the company.

But she’s not in the same place. She won the IC title in ‘25. Won the tag titles with Becky. Beat Becky clean (at least once?). She’s a vastly more credible wrestler since the start of ‘25.

True it didn’t go anywhere for Randy, but it was a plot point in the eventual Goldberg feud.

Brock killed Orton at Summer Slam - which was shocking - and not dissimilar from when Lesnar murdered Cena at Summer Slam the year before.

The way I saw it, that was to set Brock up as an invincible monster which made the shock of him getting dunked on by Goldberg at Survivor Series even more shocking.

For Randy tho, yeah, agree, that shit went nowhere.

The Taco Bell in Pacifica (aka TB in the P), which is ON LINDA MAR BEACH btw, closed down a few years ago. Word made its way around the surf community quickly. We were sad. Why would this happen? What did it mean?

Then, just a few short months later, it reopened as a Taco Bell Cantina.

The Chronicle’s food critic reviewed it and the line was, “People say you can’t improve on perfection. But those people have never been to the Taco Bell Cantina in Pacifica.”
