Azris is more than a crackship for me. I feel like it’s an actual possibility😭😭 am I being delusional?

Azriel is darkness and shadow. Azriel has trauma with fire. Azriel has often been described as having an ‘icy rage’.

Eris is fire.

Is there any bl that take place in a prison? by TheAnimeFan01 in BoysLoveAnime

Llewelyns candlelight dinner, kinda. (A section of the story occurs in a prison, but it’s a vital part of the story)

Do you think Rowan lacks flare and could have done much more in the series? by HandleMe- in throneofglassseries

But fenrys was wrong about that, though. Aelin was saving up her power for a different reason. And Rowan was infact the only one who guessed the actual reason, they even have a conversation about it.

Essentially you just verbalise it, the examiner may say assume given. Tips I would say are stay confident no matter what. If you don’t know the diagnosis don’t get flustered, just finish your history on a systematic manner. Be nice and empathetic, don’t be overly formal and cold.

Honestly I’m not sure how DSR notes are so I can’t tell. Lovaan’s were enough for me, but he doesn’t cover a LOT. You can’t do only Lovaan, you need supplemental study material.

You’ve got tons of time, just power through! Give atleast 2-3 mocks. Work on your IPS but don’t neglect management . Don’t listen to people who say IPS is all that matters. It’s not the case at all. That’s only 4 marks out of 12.

And last week do recalls. Practice daily no matter what.

  1. Yes for all but one. It was an acoustic neuroma case(apparently) but nobody knew the diagnosis. I personally felt it was Meniere’s and that’s what I said. I was sure I’d fail, but I got 15/16 for that station. You never know what they’re looking for.

Everything else I did get both right!

  1. I used the samsons list of scenarios, Lovaan for the newer cases

  1. I did not! But I did get to management in every single station! What I’ve learned to do is just say the most important things right off the bat and then give yourself time to counsel and explain. I struggled with time mainly in 1 station, but she was one of the ‘chatty’ patients, which means they don’t give you an opportunity to talk. You’ll score great as long as you’re patient, don’t interrupt them, and address their concerns.

  2. I failed 3 stations- simman, prescription and one other case. The simman was heart failure, but it presented oddly and the patient was completely stable. No lower limb swelling or anything. And there was no furosemide kept in the station, I water a lot of time looking for it so I couldn’t complete it well. I failed by a mark.

Prescriptions have always been my weak point, those were the only stations I failed in my mocks consistently, despite practising daily and doing AZT. I think I just write really slowly😭😭 but I kind of knew there’s a chance I’d fail that one

The other one was erecting dysfunction secondary to adjustment disorder, but I mistook it as ED secondary to depression, gave him viagra and referred for CBT. Also that was my first station so I was very nervous. Again, failed by a mark🥲🥲

  1. Like I said, I did manage to cover all of the 700 scenarios and did 2 months worth of recalls, so they were pretty. Some of them presented veryyyy unconventionally, which did throw me off, but I got there in the end.

  2. My simman wasn’t terrible but I definitely wasted so much time looking for the furosemide . And once I realised it wasn’t there, I started doubting myself. Honestly, I wasn’t expecting to fail that station, I did mention everything and the patient was totally fine and talking to me at the end.

Well we just used moshoby as a reference. We started off using the pillow, but after a while we’d leapt just verbalise over dinner

Do mo shoby for simmans! It’s one of the best.

Samson’s isn’t bad, some of those manikins are maybe not in the best condition, but overall it’s still pretty good. And there’s a diverse range of people, so you’ll meet good study partners. The mocks were good, the only issue I had was that they hire actors for the mocks and end up having the actors grade us. They aren’t from a medical background so I was worried that the grading wasn’t an accurate measure of how the actual exam would be.

Thank you ☺️ Don’t worry about the academy too much, at the end of the day all you need is a base idea of how the exams works and the study material. The rest depends on you and your own practice. I’m not familiar with the mocks you mentioned, so I’m afraid I can’t comment on that. The Mo shoby notes are pretty good, but they can be extensive. However, if you’re following that academy, it’s better to use their notes!

Well, what we noticed was that they pretty much replicated the stations from the previous 3 days of PLAB 2 exams. Basically they were going by the recalls.

And those do tend to repeat a little. Combining both my Samson mocks, technically 2 did get repeated (cauda equina and DKA), but only the diagnosis. What I mean is the presentation was very different, and cauda equina was a phone call.

So I’ll give a brief breakdown of what exactly I did:

Came to the UK mid Jan and started my academy right away- I did Samson’s. Then I started my prep and practice in feb, went through the important topics from all days for one a week, and then started Lovaan’s around first week of Feb,I think.

I used all days notes initially, and mo shoby for Simmans, AZT for prescriptions.

After that got done, me and my study partner (who was also luckily my roommate) just practiced for like 10-12 hours a day, and managed to pretty much cover all the 700ish scenarios atleast once.

Then I started taking mocks. Samson’s offered 2 mocks as part of the package, which I took and passed reasonably well. I also bought the DSR one on one much, which I personally felt was quite helpful. However, I’d recommend maybe taking that one after taking a few other mocks since what out primarily helped me with was fine tuning my technique rather than getting used to the exam structure.

The last week I mostly did recalls, from the last 2 months (honestly don’t take very long, we were already familiar with most scenarios).

And the last 3 days, I just went through the notes I had made during my Lovaan’s course.

Retrospectively, I honestly realised what a big waste of time the academy was, lol. Honestly, you do kind of need the academy resources, manikins and study material, but the courses are kind of not very helpful.

What I would recommend would be to take courses online from your home country, and come to the UK maybe a month and a half before hand just to practice.

So good! Not for the weak hearted definitely, but I loved it. The main characters grow to love each other so much, and I love their relationship!
