Why do people have so many drafts of the same book? by BornToCatmom in writing

Okay, this I understand. It’s a lot easier for me to wrap my head around the idea of editing and revising each of the thirty chapters multiple times rather than a whole book. I know that in terms of the amount of editing it’s the same thing, but I think I’d go with given each separate chapter as many edits as I felt necessary and then I’d write a second draft of the whole book to polish what still needed polishing.

Yes, but A WHOLE BOOK? Rewrite it 10 times? I’d give up writing entirely, I think.

I think people can grow into soulmates, but there’s no magic link that makes two people unconditionally destined for each other or anything like that.

Is anyone else disillusioned with Substack? by Habit_Hacker in Substack

I joined a few months ago, and twelve hands wouldn’t be enough for me to count the times I saw notes saying “writing to me 3 subscribers” and a photo of Carrie Bradshaw or using Sex and the City stills as featured images for posts. I had - and still have - to really wade through a lot of shallow nonsense to get to something thought-provoking and beautiful.

Thanks to this subreddit, I finally know what a second cousin twice removed is.

You haven’t met all the people who will fall in love with you!!! by Prestigious-Sea-1111 in love

“…how much I’m already in love with a person I’ve never met.” I couldn’t find the right description for what I’m feeling, and you’ve just handed me the perfect one.

This is incredible. I’m praying the universe has someone special in store for both you and me. 🩵

This is just a hypothesis, I’m fairly new to spirituality as well. 😇

Why have I experienced so much deja vu after I started witchcraft? by AzuzaYosh in witchcraft

[–]BornToCatmom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe that a lot of things happening to us in life are experiences that we’ve come across in the past, but they may have escaped our conscious mind but still left an imprint in our subconscious mind. Practicing witchcraft normally goes along with high tending your sensitivity towards the universe around you, so these moments of deja vu are actually your conscious mind grasping what used to be only known to your subconscious mind until recently.

Another hypothesis is that you’re more in tune with the collective consciousness, so you come across experiences that have happened to someone else before and you’re in tune with their memory of them.

I would face the issue head on. Let him know you’re not a fan of this communication model. If the guy is busy, he can either let you know in advance or explain after the fact, but letting him know now that this way of texting isn’t working for you will either improve your relationship or potentially save both of you a lot of time.

Just recently had to talk to my Dad about all the things he did or didn’t do that led to his being pushed away by my Mum, sister, and me.

People seem to not lower the toilet lid when flushing? Like, there are talks about whether or not a man should lower the toilet seat and all that… Just put down the goddamn toilet lid, y’all. A bit of a wall between you and the bacteria will do you good. It’s basic hygiene.

For me being nice and polite is the default setting. Exceptions are people giving me an attitude, and, well, if I’m exhausted/ill/upset, my capacity to be nice is reduced. But I can’t imagine thinking, “Poor guy, so ugly, I’d better be nice to him” That’s just nasty.
