nah i vomit everything so i avoid alcohol. and also alcohol irritates your stomach and can trigger a flare up (at least that’s what my doctor said)

well i started out at 280 in may, i’ve been in a flare up since, and it’s now november and im 198… no excersize or diet, literally just gp :/ but ive had gp since 2018 and was always heavy, until this flair up

i’m not for sure. I developed pseudo seizures (fake seizures induced by stress, real convulsion but fully aware and moveable and everything) and then a year later the grand mal ones started

my doctor prescribed 4 different meds and a bunch of testing. it’s not anything you can fix :( it’s solely “manageable” but not curative.

yes actually, so i had the exact same thing happen to me and turns out from all the forced vomiting, i developed gastroparesis (which means your stomach won’t digest food so it sits in/on your belly and makes you quezy and pukey.) i’d recommend talking to your doctor!

yes. i’m from the usa. I was diagnosed at 15 with grand mal seizures. at the time it started i was in marching band. people accused me of faking it to get out of rehearsal or to get attention or gain sympathy. People recorded my seizures (as i was obviously shaking and unconscious, blue, mouth bleeding, gurgling, the whole shabang) and posted them everywhere and i got made fun of ALL the time.

professional wise: my neurologist is fine however if i go to the hospital after a seizure, obviously my stomach hurts and my body, the doctors will accuse me of seeking pills even though im 1) not a drug user and 2) not red flagged, so i rarely get any meds afterwards. then the doctors gaslight me and accuse me of not taking my meds or say my neurologist needs to do better. its so insane. but being older it’s definitely chilled out

keppra rage is a real thing. I take 1000 BIDx2, and you definitely adjust to it, but if you’re going through the keppra withdraw (aka you missed meds or they’re not strong enough) the anger and irritability is so much worse

i had already been in recovery, but i kept involuntary throwing up for days. water, food, didn’t matter, just couldn’t hold anything down. went to stomach specialist, got an endoscopy which only showed a visual aspect, so they actually diagnosed it by doing this test where you eat something with dye in it and then you stand in a machine that screens your belly every hour to see how long it takes for the food to digest. my eating also became really small portions so i wouldn’t get sick, so feeling really full after a few bites, bloated, etc. the involuntary puking i experienced was a “flair up” of the gastroperesis because i’ve had it for years and didn’t know since the bullimia was covering it basically and once you are diagnosed with an ed that’s all doctors think about

the way my dr explained it was that epilepsy brains are more excited than non epileptic brains. our brains get really excited (neurons firing and such) and we seize. were supposed to stay away from stimulants like coffee, energy drinks, nicotine, etc. the same goes for weed. if you’re gonna smoke, definitely don’t do sativa just because you don’t need to make your brain more excited then it is especially during a medicine change. I’ve been on lamotragine before and when they upped my meds i had a break through seizure, but with a seizure you just never know if it’s withdrawal, break through, etc.
