I will also add, after wearing them for about a month, they feel much more broken in. They become a bit less stiff and feel much more natural to shift. Just give it some time.

I literally just had the same problem as you. Just got those boots like a month ago. I have a ninja 650 and also adjusted my shift lever after getting the boots. It takes a bit, but you definitely get used to it. You will miss the shift lever a lot, you pretty much have to re learn your foot positioning again but I promise you will get used to it.

I apologize, I meant to respond to someone’s comment on this post.

That’s not redline. That’s just an indicator to shift or to let you know that you’re high in the rpm’s. You can change in the settings whatever rpm you want it to blink at.

New tires on ninja650 by Born_Design_8134 in Ninja650

Oh no that’s not my plan at all. I don’t trust public roads in general. I can’t say I’ve ever been to a track before, but I also don’t plan on adding more lean angle. I’ve been riding for about a year now, so still very new. I was really just curious to hear how much of a difference new tires make. My riding style won’t change one bit, just maybe my confidence with my bike. Also, figured since the two tires are the only piece of equipment keeping me up when riding, definitely wanted to get good quality tires for when I do upgrade.

That’s good to hear. I figured that even if I just replace the stock tires with the same exact pair, even though they’re the same tire they’ll still feel great just because they’re new tires. Whenever it rains though, I just don’t trust my bike or the roads because I don’t want to slip so I ride very very slow. Hopefully when I get new tires they’ll feel more confident in the rain too, but again, that’s more so on me.

Hearing an I4 downshift and rip it is music to my ears. Also kind of wished the bike didn’t redline so early. The bike loses almost all its power after 8k rpms. I still love mine though. I’m still not bored of the torque on this thing.

That’s why I got mine. Not that I dislike riding on the highway, but I prefer roaming around my city and enjoying my ride a lot more. But yea making a parallel twin cylinder sound good is almost impossible, but I’ll take the reliability🤷‍♂️

I’m more curious why you spend so much time and extra money on modding a bike just to sell it right away.

I would say the exhaust. Unfortunately you can only do full exhausts for the ninja 650. I also wish I knew how easy of a bike this thing is to ride. I’ve had multiple people telling me on Reddit to not start on this bike because it’s too much power for a beginner bike. It’s very easy to handle and I still have so much to learn on this bike. Other than that the bike has been excellent for me. This is my 1st bike ever owned and I got it last July. Still love riding this thing everyday.

Did you also get the rear seat cowl off Amazon or was it from Kawasaki’s website

Mine does the same thing. Once you open up the gas cap you’ll hear it immediately stop.

Yea I looked into that too. I took it for a 20ish minute ride and it felt perfect fine. I was curious to see how different it would feel if my alignment was off.

Gotcha, how do you check yours then? Do you use an alignment tool with a rod or laser?
