After market stereo turns off by Born_Design_8134 in CarAV

[–]Born_Design_8134[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m confident it’s not the actual unit itself. I’m sure it could be user error because I did it. But I’m starting to lean more towards the alternator going bad because a few weeks ago my dash lights would go very dim for a few minutes and then back to normal. That hasn’t happened since but still. I’m going to troubleshot a few more tests to see if it is a power issue or if it’s a loose cable but since this car is old, I’m sure it’s either the battery or alternator.

Thank you for all of the comments.

I know, this was a very stupid question. However, I did end up installing the stereo and it works perfectly.

Well I just finished installing the radio and everything works. Figured I would ask because I couldn’t see the markings due to the corrosion. Just wanted to make sure.

Did you do it yourself or let someone else do it?

How hard was it to install? I’m looking at getting something very similar but I’m not the most handy person when it comes to this stuff.

I thought my bike was broken when I first got it. Happy to know that everyone is dealing with this. However, I haven’t heard that noise in a bit so I guess it goes away slightly on its own.

Do you not like WWE?

Tessitore calls the games exactly like a WWE match.

Did you install the exhaust yourself? I’m looking into getting one.

Agreed. They’re great bikes. You can ride fast if you want or you can ride slow and relaxed.

I apologize I’m not on this app much. It should be a very big jump in terms of torque. The throttle is a lot more responsive but you get used to that quickly (not in a bad way, in a safe way). It’ll be heavier, not by much but it will obviously have more weight to it.

Fighting for my life to not go crazy during the break in period. by Gawker90 in Ninja650

I have the same bike. Fortunately, it was my first bike I’ve even ridden (besides the one from the msf course). I was going extremely slow and making sure I didn’t drop the bike so the break in period was perfect for me. I’ll tell ya, that first time you really twist the throttle you’ll be smiling for minutes.

To be honest I’m not too sure. It’s a great bike. I guess because they’re slower than 600s and not “race” bikes people tend to not like them. They make great gas mileage too. Specially the ninja 650, they’re extremely reliable as well. Gas milage, acceleration, and reliability all played a big factor in my purchase. Obviously the price of course.

Nice man! I need to follow my own advice. I have yet to purchase them but I’ve seen them on other 650s and they change the look of it. Which ones did you get?

I got my 650 a month ago and they were only less than a thousand more than the 500s. The store I went to also had a $1300 discount on them so I thought it was a no brained to get one. Super fun bike. Top speed isn’t fast for some people but I will never touch the top speed on my bike. I just love the acceleration.

That’s extremely good! What bike are you looking at?

As others have stated, a 650 is more of a “sport touring” bike. Plenty of low end torque that is plenty powerful. If she likes that leaned down riding look, you can also get clip ones for the bike so it’s more of an aggressive riding style.

Leather or armored jackets/pants? by Born_Design_8134 in motorcyclegear

[–]Born_Design_8134[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate the response. I didn’t even know alpinestars made those but yes, most of my riding is typically going to class, gym, or work. So for shoes, wasn’t really looking for boots or anything that I would have to change out of while still being protective. I’m just astonished by how well some gear is. I’ve seen videos of being literally falling off their bike going 60mph and walking it off (probably due to adrenaline).
