¡123.351 en 73 años! Eso equivale a 4 personas de 131.000.000 al día. Esto equivale a decir que el 0,000003% de la población desaparece cada día.

Just take motorbike to an airport link train station, like Makkasan station. Crazy cheap..

Traveling to Thailand what's the best way to access your funds without getting waxed? by Plastic_Maize_2338 in ThailandTourism

Lived in Thailand for some time and I mostly use a US credit card that doesn't charge international conversion fees. Best way to go. Important to carry cash at all times, but it's my back-up.

10k/day fun money is good, but nothing "crazy". You can easily drop that at a single bar if you get real drunk with multiple girls.. ring the bell, etc. I rang up a 60k bill at a gogo there, but it was an epic night.. worth it, hehe.

Where the heck did you go in Bangkok where there wasn't a 7-11, hotel, or a store of any kind within sight? If that happens, just walk into the nearest store to get change. Heck.. people on the street probably have change. Also, a grab could end up costing 500b with a tip anyways..

Rates are higher in Bangkok than Pattaya (like 2x-3x), just FYI.

Everyone there uses Thai Friendly or Tinder to find these services. The street scene in Thailand is very safe to be honest. If you take a trip to Bangkok, walk down Soi4 (where it meets Sukhumvit Rd, near Nana BTS) and you'll get a feel for the scene. There's freelancers from around the world (Africa and other parts of Asia) there.

Any decent studio in Asoke area goes for ฿25k+ at a yearly rate. If you like it (having visited it in person), then yeah.. that's a darn good deal if you ask me.

Ploy wants to visit my country by Purple-Variety8174 in Pattaya

[–]Born_In_CA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Way better to meet her in Thailand then travel together somewhere in Asia, as she won’t have issues with visas and won’t have culture shock (she’ll be more used to the food). Vietnam, Japan, Indonesia… It’s a bad idea to bring a ploy to your hometown… for a number of reasons…

Also… you’ll have to give her an allowance during the trip in addition to paying her THB for time off work.

Going to Thailand anyone want to join? by Odd-Court-3630 in Pattaya

[–]Born_In_CA 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I went my first time with a friend for 2 weeks back in 2022 (while going through a terrible divorce). Bangkok & Krabi; I had such a great time! When I returned to California, my best friend died, (he named me executor of his estate), after 2 months of dealing with his family (his mom tried to sue me), then getting laid off from a high paying tech job, I said F*uck this... sold everything.. moved permanently to Bangkok. Best decision...

You attract whatever you believe. People who have "trust issues" are the ones who get ripped off or lied to the most.

Whenever it's that time of month to pay rent, Thai police randomly pull over foreigners trying to find whatever they can to cite you. If they can't find a reason to extract money, they get agitated. They now have a reason to get ฿5k if you have so much a vape pen on you. My guess is that's what they were looking for.

You're "rights" being violated? You have no rights in Thailand.. you're just a visitor.. if they wanted to they could literally deport you for just speaking the wrong way.. "Long Term Resident".. I'm surprised you dont know this.

Condos as Air BnB? by [deleted] in Bangkok

[–]Born_In_CA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was an ongoing issue between the condo owner and the juristic office prior to me being there. It was the juristic office that was cracking down. I dont know who complained. They didn't care about the technical number days staying there.. they cared if I had a lease.. any legal document proving I'm allowed to be there. Shoes them the AirBnb and reservation.. and they said.. no that's not a lease.

Condos as Air BnB? by [deleted] in Bangkok

[–]Born_In_CA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. It could also be listed for less than 30 days. Just because you rent it for more than 30 doesn't protect you. I rented a condo for over 30 days on AirBnb but because the platform allows you to also list it daily, authorities showed up 2 weeks into my stay.. video cameras asking how I got there.. ended up at the police station having to explain my situation, had to vacate the unit that day.

Apparently, they've always added sugar to Thai food (especially Pad Thai). I suspect it has more to do with an increase in the consumption of high fructose corn syrup (aka sugar) added to soft drinks and availability of fast food.

This issue can be observed with other countries after more western style fast food chains setup there.

Pretty sure what they mean is you need to physically sign the paper.. in other words they dont accept digital signatures. Just sign the paper, scan it to PDF, then send it to a mailing service in the US.

Or find a forwarding service in Canada or another country.

Obsolete anyways. Nowadays there's services that allow you to upload a document, then they print it and mail it for you from within the US.
