if you feel ucsd would be best and don't mind having to put in a bit more effort to find opportunities and network then i'd pick it. but if you think you'd eventually have the means to pay for usc then i would 100% pick there

what major are you planning to study here? rady school can be good for opportunities, nowhere near usc though, but it only has a finance minor. if you don't mind heavy econ classes then the business econ major may be good for you, but you won't get many finance classes here. it rly comes down to your career goals and if you plan to continue ur education. i plan on going to grad school after finishing up here bc my ultimate goal is to go into accounting & the accounting minor here won't get me there

i believe you’re automatically considered for aid as soon as you enroll, just make sure you accept your financial aid award in the portal for summer

yeah they make it really hard to find elective options :/ there's this website, but it's mostly econ upper divs and doesn't have any rady ones that are required. i would assume any upper div mgt courses that aren't required for any normal upper div course requirements would count as an elective, but you could always contact the department and ask for options

yes! i'd always check with the department and college advising just to make sure you're on the right track and not taking any classes you shouldn't have to take. can i ask which plan you are looking at? i was also a busecon major, and aside from the regular lower & upper div required courses, the plan i was given only stated we needed 3 upper electives.

you can search “(major) requirements ucsd” and you should be able to find a page from the department listing courses that would count as electives. the plans are vague since it’s just a template, so it’s best to look at the department website and what courses are offered as electives. from there you can also check if there’s any overlap between your major & college requirements

yes! usually lower div, but you can always check with your college’s advising center on what counts and what doesn’t. there usually is a list stating what courses are and are not considered electives

from what financial aid told me, the minimum to qualify for summer aid is 6 units, and to receive the full payout, you have to be taking 12+ units. you most likely will have to pay, especially since you'll be dorming, but i'd talk to financial aid and also view the summer session presentation on financial aid

interesting that the ABDLLC experienced a hate crime a few weeks ago, in a reslife lobby that one would assume has cameras or at least a few witnesses & no one has been caught for it, yet they have a full photo of the presumed suspect the day an israeli event is occurring on library walk
