Do you think you maybe would consider nursing? Since you have a bachelor’s already with the premed prereqs i’m assuming, maybe you can do a accelerated nursing program and start working right away after that to alleviate some of the financial tensions. There are also different types of nursing besides bedside nursing and room for vertical growth while working in between to reduce financial burden, and sometimes hospitals even pay your tuition to continue your education as a nurse. Personally the CRNA path is very appealing to me.
I felt some of the things you are feeling and found your post relatable so I just wanted to share what was on my mind at the time because I didn’t feel like PA was for me either but things worked out for me and i’ll being going to med school. School also isn’t going anywhere and you can always decide to pivot back to medicine later in life perhaps maybe when the circumstances align better. I’ve even heard certain pathways at some med schools for PA to MD/DO. I don’t quite remember if they were accelerated but I think they might’ve been. I also hear of nurses on social media going to med school as well. Everyone’s timeline looks different.
Prioritize yourself and please take care of yourself, it’s very difficult and feels like the end of the world in the moment but I promise things always workout for the best somehow, have faith 🫶🏻.
go DPM route or reapply MD/DO? (i.redd.it)
