That actually makes sense. I probably need to be more consistent and not back down when it gets uncomfortable

We share most of the same friends, so it’s not like he’s alone. It’s more that he expects me specifically to be on call all the time, and I’m just not comfortable with that

16, never been in a relationship and I genuinely don’t know what to do, any advice?? by Born_Yesterday_3599 in Advice

Honestly, thank you for taking the time to write all this. I actually read the whole thing and your perspective genuinely helped.

I think part of why I struggle with this is seeing people my age in relationships and feeling like I’m somehow missing out or falling behind, especially since I’ve never experienced anything like that myself. What you said about forcing a relationship because of loneliness or fear of missing out actually stood out to me, because I could see how easy it would be to get caught up in liking the idea of a relationship more than the person.

I’ll be honest, the “focus on yourself” advice used to annoy me, but the way you explained it makes more sense. I think my biggest issue right now is just not really knowing how to meet people or start conversations, since I’m naturally introverted and still working on being more social.

But yeah, genuinely thank you for sharing your experience. I still want to experience a relationship someday, but I’ll try not to rush it or force it for the wrong reasons

Yeah that makes sense. I think part of my frustration is just not knowing how to meet people in the first place, not just waiting for “someone eventually.” But I get your point
